Might have to check out Oda Nobunaga (Taiga version) next.

Are you taking about Tachi Hiroshi's Oda in "Koumei Ga Tsuji"?

Or Kimura's Oda in the two part TV movie?

Neither actually, it is this one:

KING OF ZIPANGU (ODA NOBUNAGA)
King of Zipangu - 1992 Taiga Drama - 51 Episodes

This Taiga Drama spans the entire life of Japanfs first great warlord, Oda
Nobunaga, who began the process of uniting Japan that was continued by
Toyotomi Hideyoshi and completed by Tokugawa Ieyasu. Great history, together
with tremendous battle scenes.

You know Im a sucker for long historical dramas. Wink

Cast: OGATA Naoto, NAKAMURA Toru, Frank Neil

Watched the first episode of Lost Time Life...extremely interesting show concept, and has a good blend of comedy / drama to be honest. I wonder what direction it'll go in the next episode, seeing that each episode is a different story.

Also up to Episode 6 of Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi and One Pound Gospel Episode 8. All are entertaining me in their own ways, while the other shows of the season have tapered off from my viewing (busy time at work leaves me with little time for drama watching, hence why I haven't been on in a while Puppy Dog Eyes ).

Are there English subs yet?

I've downloaded Episode 4, but no English subs in sight. Sweat

There was a hardsubbed version up on the jdramas group on LJ. Haven't seen it on D-addicts but it might be there. I also watched the first episode and thought it was really good. Much more of a serious show than I thought. It had a few laughs and all but I thought it was going to be a comedy.

Edit- Yeah, the hardsubbed version of ep 1 is on d-addicts as well.

Looks like a new group, Candypop, is fansubbing this series... Victory! Peace!

Absolutely the best NHK Taiga dorama I have seen. Tremendous script by James Miki and a superb cast headed by Masahiko Tsugawa, Toshiyuki Nishida, and Shima Iwashita. It is like night and day comparing this Taiga to the recent ones. Imo, Toshiie to Matsu would be the only one made this century which would even begin to approach Aoi's quality.

Btw, the Taiga which aired the year before Aoi--Chushingura--is also a very good series: watch it and you'll see a truly great performance by Kabuki icon Kanzaburo Nakamura as the leader of the loyal 47 ronin.

There is a thread where people make, and ask for recommendations. It's at:

http://www.jdorama.com/viewtopic.2708.htm

By the way... I'd recommend Akihabara@DEEP. I think it's the sort of show you'd enjoy.

Just finished 'The Queen's Classroom' (2005)

It is super good! Amami Yuki is one helluva an actress! I love Maya! And the kids! This is a bit different with your usual school drama. Though it isn't much unlike Dragon Zakura. But trust me, all 11 episodes is worth it.

I'm currently watching 'A Long Vacation' (1996). Kimura Takuya is so hot! Ahahahaha Bleah

Ending episodes of Partners 2. I only glimpsed at it when recording, but it's a really good detective drama. Have also been watching an old drama that I saw years back. Can't wait to get more time so I can watch more episodes of that so I can get to my regular drama queue. Big Grin

Popped in an old VHS tape just to see what was on it and found myself seeing Fukatsu Eri and beem's ex Ryoko. I guess it was the last episode of Tenkiyohou no Koibito and I watched that for a bit. Then some random episodes of Watashi no Aozora. I remembered that I liked that series so now I have to try downloading them. Sweat And last, but not least, episode 52 of Oshin. I plan to watch a little of that later on. Victory! Peace!

Has anyone here watched this asodora?

http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Junjo_Kirari

I was hoping to find some comments/reviews from those who have watched it, but unfortunately this drama is not in the database here. Miyazaki Aoi won best actress with this.

I liked that asadora a lot. Tomoko Tabata was great as the take no crap off anybody Nazuna, and it has one of my favorite "more mature" actresses, Mariko Kaga. Thumbsup
