Watched the 2nd episode of Ruri no Shima. She's a brat, but it's understandable why she's like that. Can't wait to see the next episode.

Also watched Atsu-hime. I can't remember what episode it was though.

I have been watching Regatta.

It is very boring.

I think I will stop watching Regatta.

On a happier note... I popped Hyakki Yakosho into the portable DVD player this morning. (Stuck watiing for a delivery guy.)

http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Hyakki_Yakosho

And I've been zooming through these episodes like they were M&Ms.

It's a tame little series of Ghost stories. Each episode is only 20 to 25 minutes long. And the Ghosts, demons, monsters are... well, for the most part they're kind of cute and harmless. (Mostly they are fairly inexpensive looking CGIs and a few old fashonied camera tricks.)

The guy who seems to be having a ball doing this show is Watanabe Ikkei. He plays a demon inhabiting the dead body of the young hero's father. Only our hero knows that Dad isn't really Dad anymore.

I buzzed through 4 of the 9 episodes today. A wonderful way to pass the time.

Finished Keizoku, including the SP and movie. Thankfully those were of better quality. The subtitles for the movie had me scratching my head a few times. It just seemed like the subber was going for the gist of what was going on than exactly translating. At least they are softsubs so I can easily fix them up. Anywho, it started out as weird, funny cop show, and ended up totally fucked up and twisted. I'm not sure if I liked it or not. Nakatani Miki reminded me of Miyazawa Aoi a few times (her facial expressions). Hmm, yeah, I still feel really confused about this one.

I'm on episode 5 now of Love & Eros. I must say, this episode had the most intense sex scene I've seen in a Jdrama. Applaud

Still not liking it much tho. Overall. But I have my fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed <--- see?

4 more eps of Beautiful Life last night. Great show! I really enjoy the actors, even if Kyoko's a real meanie sometimes.

Some issues there. Shake Head Doh!
I really enjoyed that drama. Big Grin

Ive seen Ruri No Shima twice and not because of Yutaka ultimately. The young lead actress is very good as is the rest of the cast. Thumbsup

Besides playing a few video games with my brother and taking my Japanese final without studying (and it was goddamn hard), what did I do? (Instead of writing 14 pages of paper that I need done by Friday?)

Watched:
Keizoku Beautiful Dreamer Movie
Last Friends ep 2
Around 30 ep 2
The Vineyard Man ep 1 (Korean)
Daisuki ep 9

Sigh, I took the day off work so I could study and write those stupid papers...

Finished Mirai Koshi Meguru...

A very, very funny quirky show...over the top at all times, but very consistent in it's plot line and with a satisfying end...I expect nothing less from Kudo Kankuro!!!

I've started "The Last Lawyer".

http://www.jdorama.com/drama.713.htm

So far, I love it. It's a wonderful Hiroshi Abe vehicle about a Lawyer with no clients and no prospects. In order to make the rent he's forced to take a series of loser cases from the Public Defender's Office.

He's brilliant, of course. He tends to win. So you know the reason he's living hand to mouth is going to be a major plot point later on in the series.

The cases are pretty well thought out mysteries. The supporting cast is just terrific. And Abe is having a great time inventing another memorable character.

My only real problem with watching the show is that my copy is one of the Chinese Retail sets. And as EngRish subs go... these are some of the worst I've seen.

Abe's character talks fast in this one, and the cases are fairly complex. And the subbers clearly weren't up to the task.

I knew I was in for it when I watched the opening scene.

A little girl is watching an American Courtroom Drama on TV. The show is in English and she's reading Japanese subs.

The Chinese subbing group created English subs for what the actors were saying in English. And never was their incompetence more clearly demonstrated.

My point? Three Cheers for the Fan Subbers!!!

Watching Katagoshi No Koibito. EP one so far hooked me and Lilly_pad. Thumbsup
Service/Saabisu looks interesting.
Asuka looks to have alot of promise too. The Tea ceremony thing always interests me.

Seems like it will be interesting but it's hard to tell with just the one episode.

Today's dramas:
Joshi Deka ep 10 (final). It was decent. Nothing memorable. I think Nakama Yukie's best work is Trick.

Binbo Danshi ep 3- An okay show. Not horrible. Funny at times. Shun is mostly cute to watch but it's really annoying to see him be so selfless and keep sinking into debt.

Smiling Pasta- ep 7-9- Taiwanese drama but I think the lead actor looks like Sakurai Sho for some reason (the haircut?) so it should count!
