It didn't just look warm... it was really warm with the cloudless sky.

I figured as much, judging from the faces, particularly those fully garbed in kimonos and the like. Sweat

The ones in the kimonos must have been toasty. I noticed some of the floats brought along water bottles. I wish I was a quarter as smart.

That's where the street vendors with their $1.00+ a can sodas come in. Victory! Peace!

Has anyone ever been to the Cupertino Cherry Blossom Festival? Is it worth going to? I know it's not quite on topic, but it's close enough in geographical terms.

It's not really on the same scale. Sort of a "swap meet" compared to Walmart. Wink

Are you going to the SF Hana Matsuri this year?

Hana Matsuri?

Perhaps you're referring to the upcoming Sakura Matsuri?

And hello everyone, long time no see.

Cheers,

Yeah.

I don't know why we've always called it Hana Matsuri. Is that a different festival at a different time? Crazy

You could say I am familiar with SF's festival, LOL. hehe

FYI, for those that are not familiar with Japanese, hana means flower, matsuri means festival, and sakura to cherry blossoms.

Cheers,

Not sure if all of them take reservations, but I usually find something to eat in the Kintetsu/Kinokuniya buildings. (Do they still use those names?)

Thank you Dochira, they do, although Yelp calls it "Peace Plaza".
My dear departed used to detest those "indoor" restaurants, but Takara and Ino Sushi get pretty good reviews.
Don't want to get too fancy for a 2nd date... Naughty
