hi! I'm new to this thread. Cannes is in France. I really love Kimura-san... Cannes is a big event, and definitely it would be a big mark in his career so I guess maybe even for a short while he'll attend. Tony Leung was the lead in one of Wong kar wai's films and won the best actor award in Cannes. I totally hope the same should happen for Kimura but then it is pretty competitive... ^_^
Actually I like most of his dramas but recently a bit tired of him playing the same old kakkoi role.. hope he can breakthrough in his next role, maybe as a vulnerable normal guy or family show
As for his best dorama, here's my take on the top three
1) Long Vacation
2) Love Generation
3) maybe Beautiful Life
Actually have to say, Sora Kara Furu Ichio no Hoshi is not as bad as some pple think..I find the plot quite exciting( except the incest part which I think a bit destroy the show) n Takuya's good acting skills really shows in the drama.
love generation is tops for me! but i also love him in beautiful life, long vacation and hero. haven't seen pride yet, but i can't wait to get my hands on it and his other doramas

Mine would be:
1. LONG VACATION! - his character is a bit timid & more human...so adorable!
2. BEAUTIFUL LIFE - really really sad...
3. SORA KARA ... - very different character, never knew that he has such intense eyes...
Notice how different his characters are in those 3? That's why I really love these 3 doramas!
I also like A Sleeping Forest, Good Luck! & Love Generation. Haven't watched PRIDE though.
Gift & Concerto? Second thoughts on that. _________________

What a mess in Cannes re the film '2046.
Yes Takuya kun is there...waiting..for Wong Kar Wai to get the film ready in time. Mr Wong has been in Bangkok finishing up some reels and then has to get to Paris to pick up some more . Then has to be subtitled. The early screening on May 20th was cancelled. Hope only that some of this film can be shown in the evening hours. He has thrown the timetable haywire for all the next films. It had better be a good film.
Takuya Kun is such a meticulous worker that I think he will not be happy with all these delays.
Several Japanese and Chinese and Korean actors are in Cannes this year.
