I like the "universal" feeling of this drama. A single 40 something, extremely introvert guy's struggle/clash with "normal" people is funny (and weird) for almost all people. I watched the korean version and it was more conventional than dorama version but it was ok. But not good as dorama version, because without Abe Hiroshi you feel something is missing. It is like the whole script is written just for him. I don't like the ending though, they could have finish it better.

I loved this JDorama. The ending left you wanting more, and I was hoping for a 2nd season or at the very least a special... but so far none Heard good things about the Korean version, but I can't imagine anyone else except Hiroshi Abe in the title role. Let's hope for a special to tie up the loose ending!

I don't see it happening... It's been a while.

Abe and Yui-chan work really well together... Great chemistry.

You're right, probably not - but I watched "Shinzanmono" recently and Hiroshi Abe looked the same - he doesn't age! Natsukawa Yui was in one episode and she looked great too, and even better in Ninkyo Helper�c so it could happen, but probably unlikely.

I thought the 1st epi was bit borin for me..but from 2nd epi onwards it was seriously hilarious..kept u to keep on watchin..really a great one! u can really hate Abe character here..

It is now 13 years later and we find the 53-year-old still unmarried Kuwano Shinsuke after he has broken up with his doctor Hayasaka Natsumi.

Maybe I should wait and see who else in the cast, but I have my doubts about this. No mention of Yui Natsukawa coming back and she was a big reason the first one worked so well. It would be like, if they were both still alive, doing a remake of the "Odd Couple" but with just Walter Matthau, no Jack Lemmon.

It seems they broke up in the end, which is why he's still "kekkon dekinai otoko", sigh.
