from Tokyograph:

Tsumabuki to star in film about pandemic virus
Fri, February 1, 2008 (5:53am EST)

Global fears of a bird flu outbreak seem to have inspired a new film directed by Takahisa Zeze, titled "Kansen Retto." The story centers around the threat of a new virus spreading throughout Japan and the people bravely fighting against it.

Satoshi Tsumabuki will star as a doctor trying to treat the victims of infection, while Rei Dan plays the female lead, a medical officer from the World Health Organization. The film is said to represent a realistic simulation of the national crisis that would be caused by such an outbreak, based on predictions by researchers and medical experts.

TBS's Takashi Hirano is producing. Filming is set to start in early March, with some scenes being shot overseas. Release is targeted for January 2009.

Tsumabuki turns bad in Sang-il Lee's "Akunin"
Thu, November 5, 2009 (2:19am EST)
Satoshi Tsumabuki (28) has landed the starring role in "Akunin," a new film by director Sang-il Lee ("Hula Girls"). The movie is based on a novel by prize-winning author Shuichi Yoshida.

Although Tsumabuki has generally played likable characters in the past, here he has been cast as an antihero. Tsumabuki plays a man named Yuichi, whose dark deeds include killing a woman he meets through a dating website and forcibly taking a woman to a love hotel. However, the story examines the causes behind his character's actions, as well as the painful romance that develops between him and a woman he encounters.

The female lead will be played by Eri Fukatsu (36). She and Tsumabuki previously co-starred in the drama series "Slow Dance."

"Akunin" is scheduled for a fall 2010 release.

From the description, it's more like a "villain." Sweat

Exactly, AGAIN????? Boy oh boy, I'm not holding my breath. Shake Head Both are fine, fine actors, but when they're together, they just suck all the fun and romance out of a drama. Like a synergistic black hole of non-chemistry. bleh (Er, SLOW DANCE, anyone? No takers? None at all? Okay, proves my point, lol.)

But, yeah... Yay for Tsumabuki. Yesss, my sweet little sunshine boy, go dark, go deep. Take me to places I've never been (and would not wish to return to). We'll see how you stack up against Yamada Takayuki, yesss? *strokes chin* And as Jdorama characters say, "FIGHTS!" Yeah (WTF? I've always wondered why. Lawl.)

I really like both actors but yeah Slow Dance was a bit of a disappointment after I actually saw it. Well who knows...guess everybody deserves a second chance...well, almost everybody. Sweat

wow! it sounds interesting, Tsumabuki as a villain Mr Green. I'd like to see his character here. Oh boy, it looks like he's gonna do quite a lot of bed scenes in the movie hehe did you all notice that in most of his dramas, bed scene is always there hehe

Yes!
I didn't finish SLOW DANCE, the plot is just Beaten , just as slow as the title itself, and I just don't get the chemistry between him and Eri Fukatsu

Satoshi Tsumabuki and Hikari Mitsushima to star in new movie "Guko Roku"

Tsumabuki Satoshi and Mitsushima Hikari will be working together in the new movie "Guko Roku" (The record of folly) adapted from the same-titled novel by Nukui Tokuro which was one of the nominees for the 135th Naoki Award.

The film which is due to be shown in cinemas next year, features Tsumabuki as Tanaka, a reporter for a weekly magazine who is investigating the unresolved murder case of a family of three one year after it happened. Through the course of his investigation, Tanaka discovers that the perfect couple image projected by the deceased elite salaryman and his wife was merely an illusion and gradually finds out the truth behind the murders. Mitsushima plays his younger sister Hikaruko.

Tsumabuki commented that he has worked with Mitsushima many times to date and is very impressed with her level of involvement and concentration in her acting thus is looking forward to producing a good movie with her. Meanwhile, Mitsushima said that although she didn't take up the character because she liked it, she was keen to show how Hikaruko's way of loving was affected by her circumstances and hopes to show a different side of her acting this time. In addition, she felt assured by Tsumabuki's presence in the cast as she regards him as her elder brother thus is looking forward to taking up this new challenge with him.

Satoshi Tsumabuki to play father in NHK Special

Tsumabuki Satoshi will be playing a father for the first time in the upcoming NHK drama SP "Kidnap Tour" which will be shown at 7.30pm on 2 August. The drama SP which is based on the novel by Kakuta Mitsuyo, features Tsumabuki as Takashi who is a penniless man living separately from his wife and daughter. In order to strike a "deal" with his wife Kyoko (Kinami Haruka), he goes on a trip with his daughter Haru (Toyoshima Hana) by "abducting" her. Through this trip, Takashi and Haru discover things they never knew about each other.

When asked about his first attempt at playing a father with a daughter in Primary 5, Tsumabuki commented that he thinks that he will be a father one day but to be able to experience now through this drama is a very amazing thing for him and the feelings a father would feel came rather naturally during the filming. On the other hand, Toyoshima admitted that she was expecting another actor or a comedian to play her father so she was surprised to hear that Tsumabuki was going to be her father in the drama and couldn't imagine him being like Takashi. However, once the filming got underway, she was impressed by how Tsumabuki blended into the role and thought that he did very well.

Co-stars include Kaho, Arai Hirofumi, Muro Tsuyoshi and Yachigusa Kaoru who play the people Takashi and Haru meet during their trip while Mitsushima Hikari plays Takashi's former girlfriend. In response to this, Tsumabuki said that he and Mitsushima have played siblings so many times but he is confident that they will look like a pair of ex-lovers this time.

Maybe not too long from now he'll be playing a father for real:

Satoshi Tsumabuki and Maiko announce their marriage

Tsumabuki Satoshi and Maiko announced their impending marriage through their agency on 4 August but did not share the date when they plan to file their marriage application nor their plans for a wedding. According to their agency, the couple met in the summer of 2012 through working together in the drama "Higashino keigo Mysteries Charade ga ippai" and developed a liking for each other during the wrap-up party. Subsequently, they became an item. In spring this year, Tsumabuki proposed to Maiko which she agreed to so they will be filing their marriage application soon.

In their statement, the couple thanked everyone for their support so far and apologised for having to make the announcement at short notice via a written statement. They said that they met four years ago which has been a calming and peaceful time for them. They are both attracted to each other's consideration for the other party and would like to treasure this feeling for the rest of their lives thus this has led to them getting married. From now on, they pledged to continue working hard in their careers and building a happy family at the same time.
