Yuina Kuroshima to star in 106th asadora "Chimudondon"
Yuina Kuroshima will star in the 106th asadora "Chimudondon". Kuroshima will play Nobuko Higa. She moves from Okinawa to Tokyo to become a cook of western food. She eventually decides to open an Okinawa cuisine restaurant in Tokyo.
Storyline:
Set in the early 1970's in Okinawa, Nobuko Higa (Yuina Kuroshima) lives with her family. She is the second daughter with 3 siblings. She enjoys cooking. One day, she has a meal with her family at a restaurant. She becomes fascinated with western food after having it at the restaurant. Later, her father suddenly dies and her mother works hard to support her 4 children. Nobuko cooks for her family, while her mother works.
Nobuko eventually graduates from high school. While dreaming of becoming a western cuisine chef, she goes to Tokyo and becomes an apprentice at a famous restaurant. While she grows as a cook, she meets various people and has a romantic relationship. She begins to think that she wants to open an Okinawa cuisine restaurant in Tokyo.

Mokomichi Hayami and Yumi Wakatsuki will co-star in the ABC-tvk drama "Kekkon Dekinai ni wa Wake ga Aru".
Wakatsuki plays Mariko Goto. At the age of 29 she wants to get married and thinks she has found the ideal man, the section chief at her company, Mitsuo Tomizawa, played by Hayami. Omasa plays Mei Benikawa who works in the PR department of a cosmetics company. She was chosen as the head of her department even though she is younger than most of her co-workers. Haru, Kei Tanaka, Yuta Kishi, Takumi Kitamura, and Sae Okazaki will co-star in the Fuji TV 2021 Summer drama “Night Doctor.” They will play members of the night doctor team at a hospital.

Ryohei Suzuki will star in the TBS 2021 Summer drama "Tokyo Mer: Hashiru Kinkyuukyuumeishitsu".
Tokyo MER is a group started by the Governor of Tokyo. MER stands for Mobile Emergency Room. The members are emergency care professionals and they go to dangerous accidents and disasters in their ER vehicle.
Suzuki plays Kota Kitami doctor and leader of the group.

Yuko Araki to star in NTV 2021 Summer drama
Yuko Araki will star in the NTV 2021 Summer drama "Boku no Satsui ga Koi o Shita".
Araki plays Mitsuki Narumiya, a popular manga writer. Co-starring is Taishi Nakagawa as Shu. Shu's parents died when he was 5 years old and he was raised by his father's friend Joichiro. Joichiro suddenly dies and Shu learns that in reality, Joichiro was a killer known as "Gou no Tora". The police classify the death as accidental but a detective suspects Joichiro was killed by Mitsuki. As revenge, Shu decides to kill Mitsuki but is unable to and even saves her life and eventually falls in love with her.

Honoka Matsumoto to star in WOWOW 2021 Summer drama
Honoka Matsumoto will star in the WOWOW 2021 Summer drama " Grappler Baki wa BL dewa nai ka to Kangaetsuzuketa Otome no Kirokutsutsu".
Matsumoto plays Akane Kojima who works at a stationary company. Her hobby is reading BL manga*. She finds out about a manga called "Grappler Baki". She takes the characters and scenes from the manga and changes it into a BL story.
The drama airs starting in August, 2021.
* FYI, if you didn't know BL manga means Boys Love and features romantic relationships between men.

Masaki Suda to star in Fuji TV Winter 2022 drama
Masaki Suda will star in the Fuji TV Winter 2022 drama "Mystery to Iu Nakare".
Suda plays Totono Kuno a university student. He doesn't have any friends or a girlfriend but he has an excellent memory and great observation skills. There is a murder in a park near Totono's home. The victim was a university student and Totono becomes a suspect. While being interrogated by detectives he becomes aware of clues behind the murder, but a weapon is found with Totono's fingerprints on it.

Mitsuki Takahata will star in the WOWOW drama "Iribito".
Takahata plays Naho Takamura who works as a curator at an art gallery. The gallery was first started by her grandfather. Her husband works as a director at another art gallery which has been run by her husband's family for several generations. After getting pregnant, Naho decides to leave the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and moves to Kyoto. While in Kyoto she runs across an interesting painting done by an unknown painter. She decides to investigate further to find out more about the painting and the painter.

Takumi Saito to star in TV Asahi Summer 2021 drama
Takumi Saito will star in the TV Asahi 2021 Summer drama "Hyouchakusha".
3 high school girls are walking on the beach and they find a naked man (played by Saito) laying face down. They film him with their smartphones and the man says "Winner Take Nothing" before passing out. The man is soon sent to the hospital, where he is diagnosed with having memory loss. The man doesn't have any kind of identification. The only clue to his identity is a tattoo on his left ankle. The 3 high school girls who found him upload a video they filmed of him to social media. Because of the video, the man becomes famous. He is referred to as Hemingway because in the video he said "Winner Take Nothing" and that is the title of a short story collection written by Ernest Hemingway. The Hemingway allows the three girls to visit him at the hospital and film another video of him to post on social media. The girls hope the video will lead to more information about his identity. To recover his lost memory and with the advice of doctors, Hemingway writes down some words and draws a scene that is in his mind.
Meanwhile, a girl goes missing. The detectives and media seek to find the missing girl. The girl is finally discovered. The place where she is found looks like the scene drawn by Hemingway. Now he receives even more attention from the public and is admired by them.

Rasen no Meikyu rescheduled for October 2021
The TV Tokyo drama "Rasen no Meikyu" starring Kei Tanaka and Ken Yasuda originally meant to air in April of 2020, but having its shooting postponed due to the Covid-19 outbreak will now air in October, 2021.
Kei Tanaka plays Jin Jinbo, a DNA expert. He works as an associate professor at a medical school. A murder takes place in Tokyo. The murderer leaves an ‘X’ mark on the dead body. Detective Genji Ando, played by Ken Yasuda, is barred from the murder investigation, because of a high probability that his wife was murdered by the same person. The investigation headquarters secretly reaches out to Jinbo for help.
As stated earlier, the drama will air in October, 2021.

Mugi Kadowaki and Naotaro Moriyama will co-star in the TV Tokyo Summer 2021 drama "Ukiwa: Tomodachi Ijo, Furin Miman".
Kadowaki plays Maiko. Her husband's job moves them from Hiroshima to Tokyo. They live in an apartment provided by the company. Her husband works late every night. Maiko's neighbor is Futaba played by Moriyama. Futaba also happens to be Maiko's husband's boss. Maiko and Futaba visit each other across their porches. Then Maiko learns her husband is having an affair.

Nishijima, with the help of his co-worker Mizuho Ninomiya, played by Yoshine tries to find out what has happened to his family.

Noriko Eguchi and Eiji Akaso to star in Fuji TV 2021 Fall drama
Noriko Eguchi and Eiji Akaso will star in the Fuji TV 2021 Fall drama "Super Rich".
Eguchi plays Mamoru Hyoga, the CEO of the company Three Star Books. She was born into a rich family and has never had to struggle financially. She is successful running the company but is still depressed about the death of her parents when she was young. She has one close friend, Ryo Ichinose that she confides in. Ichinose was her partner in starting Three Star Books and they still work together. Hyoga then starts a relationship with Yu Haruno, played by Akaso. There is a big age gap between the two. Haruno grew up in a poor, but close, family. Haruno works part-time to support himself and then gets a job as an intern at Three Star Books.

Kazuya Kamenashi will star in the WOWOW Spring 2022 drama "Shoutai".
Kamenashi plays Keiichi Kaburagi. He is arrested and convicted for the murder of a couple, but is able to escape. While on the run, he meets various people in difficult situations and is able to help them. When they find out he is an excaped fugitive convicted of murder, they begin to doubt his guilt.
