Hi Genma

I don't know if this is worth yor time, but this suggestion is pretty useful. Since there are possible a lot of jdrama trading going on here, why not make a list of everyone who is available for trade, what they have, and feedback to their trades. Reson being for the feedback, if this trader has good feedback, that means that he/she is worthy to trade, where as if a person gets bad feedback and "rips" people off, they'll be branded as "ripper" in this community and therefore no one would want to trade with him/her.

Check out this forum for idea. I'm here as well, with the same nickname, niko2x. Just an idea.

I know what you mean, think its also something like eBay's seller rating system.

But I'm not too familiar with this, maybe you traders out there could post here, what you think could be done here - specifically. Then I can better decide on how to implement it. yah? Mr Green

Maybe you can post or make a poll to see if you can generate interest and also is anyone able to do something like that. I'm sure someone in this forum has the knowledge to do it.

I would recomand to open an IRC channel to trade only Jdrama and everyone who comes in has to share JDrama. And is also a nice way to talk to people. Big Grin

I just need suggestions on how it should be implemented, like the work flow and display, etc. Leave the technicalities to me. Smile

As for IRC or chat, I'm dropping the idea. Alot of people don't know how to IRC, and a chat on the website would slow everything down alot.

However, IRC could be used as a trading medium. I may choose Galaxynet. Who's wants in?

Hi all,

I think that if we have some sort of trade ranking (like how many successful trades versus rippers) for the traders in this forum, the more people is going to incline to trade with that person. For instance, if I trade with this one person, and he/she send stuff back like they said that they were, then i'll give them a good rating (1 thru 5 or somethign). The more good rating, the more trustworthy he/she will be. If a person has a bad rating, people won't trade with him/her. Therefore that person won't be a nuisence to this community any more. Any thoughts?

Just some thoughts on how a feedback page might work...

Perhaps set it up a bit like the "dramas owned" page, where you can list the people you've traded with., and also the number of tapes, and how long the trade tood (days, weeks, if they didn't send, etc.) and then a space to make a comment about the trade over all. I think it would work best if it linked to your own personal ID, rather than leaving "feedback" for someone else... the problem there being, you could really abuse it and trash someone's "feedback rating" if you were feeling vendictive.

i agree that a trading feedback type of thing is a good idea. maybe each person can have their own post that they put the dramas they have to trade, the people they traded with (seller/buyer), and the feedback rating that they would give that person. each person keeps their one post and keeps editing it, instead of having like a million posts in a cluttered thread. i think this can keep it way more organized.

Instead of IRC, why don't you try one of those community based fle sharing programs like Waste that allows messaging and file sharing and is encrypted and secure...

looking at it from a purely dorama trading perspective, this forum is almost ready.

as you know, you can maintain a list of doramas you have watched/bought. why not add a trade option?

then create a search that is similar to yahoo classifieds that will allow members to look for doramas for trading by:
- country location
- specific title
- actor

after that, it's a piece of cake for seeker to approach trader. you already have the PM option in this forum.

we cannot guarantee satisfaction. buyer beware, that's standard internet practice. we can only go by word of mouth within the forum. the bad eggs will eventually be weeded out.

Once you get used to irc, it's not that hard. I'll try to explain the best I can.

Once you're in a channel, type "!list" without quotes to get a list of available fserve information. Fserve is like a seeder in bittorent terminalogy.

Say the following pops up after you type !list.
"<+redrum> [Fserve Active] - Triggers:[hkm-forty & hkm-greed & hkm-Wfiles] "

The triggers in this example are "hkm-forty", "hkm-greed" and "hkm-Wfiles"

After you type one of those in the channel, a new window will open and you're connected to that fserve.

Now in the fserve, it's kinda like dos. Use the following commands:
dir - list files/directories available
get "filename" - to download or queue file
sends - info on who the fserve is sending to
queues - info about the fserve's queue, where you are in line etc.
quit - to exit the fserve

Another in channel command is "@find". You can use it to search for files available on fserves. For example type "@find hero" to look for files with "hero" in it. But for this to work, the fserves will have to enable it. Don't use this often b/c it slows fserves so channels usually restrict that you use it about once every 5mins.

Also, many channels will have their own set of rules which you have to follow or else they may ban you from their channel. Type "!rules" and have look at them before you start. But most are just common sense.

Download speeds are usally no that fast, average 30k/s maybe because it's just one comp sending you the stuff. So often, you'll have to queue a file.
