I'll watch it too. Even without subs. Not because I know anything about the writer, but because I think Rina is a peach.

Well...that's one of the reasons I want to watch it too. Mr Green Although it'll be hard to watch Rina cough up a lung onto her writing....

Geezer, i'm just wondering if you get the AZN Television Channel where you're living.

Sorry, didn't know where else to post this. Did the topic change?

heres the website:
http://www.azntv.com/azntv/drama.asp

EDIT: I forgot to mention that AZN TV used to be the International Channel. Mr Green

I don't think geezer minds me posting a question here about the AZN TV channel. Mr Green
I think he mentioned something earlier about the International channel here in this thread too. hehe
Well... AZN TV is now the International channel.

Maybe it's time to change the topic to:
Northern California Drama channels [KTSF, etc.] Nut

...since the title of the thread is actually about KTSF's website. Victory! Peace!

Nope. I don't get AZN. And for some reason they simply stopped giving me the International Channel. I think a couple of the guys in Freemont still get the IC, so maybe they get AZN.

As far as worrying about mentioning the AZN or IC or IA channels, I figure this thread is mainly about Japanese Dramas shown in the Bay Area. (The when? what time? is it any good? what's next? and the always important... I missed something! Can anyone help me out? conversations.)

KTSF is the grand daddy, and since it's a local station, and basic cable, I think most of us use it as our foundation.

But I, for one, have no problem with people discussing the other local options or possibilities.

Heck, I brought up the imagine asian network conversation, in the hopes that someone else was able to get it locally. (Jeez, I even went to radio shack and bought an antena to see if I could pick the station up that way. I couldn't.)

I may have to call comcast again and ask why I don't get the IA or IC channels, but I do get the TV Guide channel on both ch 11 and ch 28.

You are correct, Geez. I do get the AZN channel on ch. 69. I actually didn't realize the change had occurred until someone on d-addicts pointed to the existence of a Korean drama. But as I have said before, no IATV in my area.

And this idea of calling Comcast is going well.

When I called them last week, I was told that IA was available only in S.F. county, but would eventually find it's way onto the East Bay's lineup.

When I called yesterday, I was told that comcast doesn't own IA. There are no plans to bring it to the East Bay. IA, according to the person I talked to, rents a public access channel on the S.F. line-up, and the only way to get them to the East Bay is to go to our City Council and make a formal request.

?????????????????????????

I"m back to hoping that someone who gets the network is recording the shows, and is willing to seed them on one of the file sharing sites... because I give up.

Has anyone tried to contact IA to see if they have plans to expand into other area's? They may know more than the Comcast phone monkeys who often make things up to get you off the phone so that they can keep their phone stats looking good.

The IA Network put up a couple of email addresses on their site, so I emailed both of them.

[email protected]

and

[email protected]

Basically all I said was, I live in the East Bay, and I'm ticked off that I can't get iatv on my comcast lineup.

Drop them a note. Tell them they have an audience outside S.F. County (probably a much bigger audience out here in the burbs). Being in N.Y. they probably don't know.

By the way... I watched the first episode of Warriors this morning...

Man, if only the guys who did the fight choreography, camera work, and editing for "Warriors..." had been hired to do the same on "Yoshitsune".

I think the look of the fight scenes in Warriors is what they wanted for Yoshitsune, but they had to make a choice.

Spend the money on a script, some actual actors, and concern yourself with storytelling.

Or dump all the dough into some kick ass (for TV) fight scenes.

I'm gonna stick with Warriors for a while... to see if they can develop the other side of the series.

But boy, watching both shows sure does show you the stark contrast between Japanese and Chinese costume drama.

Argh! Did anyone catch the name of the temple that Kiyomori went to, which he built ? (in ep 8--it's not named in the NHK summary) It starts with an R.

Googling is returning some other temples, including the major one on Miyajima, which I didn't know he built--I've actually been there, whee! It's an amazing place.

P. S. Geezer, I think you hit the nail on the head re. "Warriors."
