haha.. Actually starting to feel sorry for Shuji's character too... Something's going on........... He used to be the selfcentered person.. But now it's like.. ahhhhhhhhhh Shuji.... don't be sad...haha
Well the person who played Mariko was always a good actor (refering to engin)
jcrina its not just u. i'm actually more excited to watch nobuta... cus i have no expectations of how the story will go...HYD is good, but i had expectations and i feel its whizzing thru the storylines i my eyes its lost its charm. I loved the Manga and its always hard to live up to the manga.

you guys are soooo right! since the story is unexpected. and I HOPE doesn't follow the manga, we dont know what to expect! and the story is funny at one point then it shifts to more serious scenes!

1 litre is really good...but its such a different kinda drama u cant compare them...they have differnet charms to them.
Yes Akira was really drunk/high and annoying in the first few eppies...but his character has grown on me and the really drunk acting as died down to just akriaism....<---a fan girl talking here..haha...if u catch up to eppie 7 u'll see the mood will change...this drama is unpredictable-ish...

yeah, i guess you cannot really compare the two, 1 litre and Nobuta, like comparing apples and oranges.
There is just something that is good about Nobuta drama, as well as some many j-dramas out there. You never know what's going to happen next. And i like how the character development in each episode. I will view the mood change in Akira, he's just so wacky, i honesty thought he was drunk the first two eps, until i figured out that is his personality. and the way he kept pestering that main guy in the drama, was too funny. Talk about "In Your Face", that can be annoying. just getting interesting with the girl and her transformation....
on to ep3.

was shuji's otanjoubi the dating game where nobuko was put in the spot to confess her love to shuji. this is the same episode where akira realizes something (can't put spoilers).

was the double date. shuji figured out that nobuko lacks the "kyappi kyappi kan" and when shuji finds out that Takka liked Nobuko, he sets up a double date between him, mariko, nobuko and Takka much to Akira's protest ("you can't...") as usual things go awry.. but you know how it ends. Nobuko gains a friend, btw.

was the keychain where akira makes a pig keyholder that happens to be on shuji's bag and when people notice that it was so cute, shuji had the brilliant idea of giving credit to nobuko. The three start a sweatshop for keychains, which becomes a success.. but in the ADD-d generation, it could only succeed for so long. Akira tells something to Shuji, which in my personal opinion.. is groundbreaking.. hehehehe
I hope i didn't post much spoilers there.. just overviews..
OH YEAH..
that's weird comparing ICHI and NOBUTA.. Ichi is such a tearjerker I swear.. I want to download the RAWs but I'm just waiting for PBF to sub them.. so i'm stuck at ep.04.. Nobuta on the other hand.. is just a light highschool drama. It banks in comedy more than it does the drama.. If ever there are dramatic parts.. it's pallative and not intrinsive compared to Ichi.. Hey! I'm not hating! I LOVE BOTH SHOWS!! it doesn't hurt that both shows feature pretty boys Pi and Ryo.. :giggles:
*EDIT.. due to a slight scolding (hehehe @ teru), I have put on the summaries on spoiler mode.. I really thought what I posted was neutral.. Then again.. I did watch these eps a dozen times over so I really don't know anymore what's a spoiler and what's not.. hehehe.. hope it helps you though so-me can't wait for a weekend with Nobuta and Matsujun!

i wish i could claim the word akiraism as mine...but i stoled it off sumoboy...
Shuuuuuuuuuuuuji kun.........I dislike the character...but then i like him too when he is being true to himself...went the character change for the better its makes me smile... its like watching him grow up hopefully to a stronger person....altho the break up was very serious and sad...i felt happy that he is being truthful to mariko altho it is painful at first...well basically this is showing Kame is do a good job with his role...isnt it more challenging to play unlikeable role?

omg i completely agree! it was soooo sad, i was almost crying, the crybaby that i was... and then the ending, omg. im glad tho that he's changing, even if it is painful for him... it was really good, i liked episode 7 a lot!!!!

^^ mentioned already... with all the PR it's going to 11.. rumor has it that if the run is successful, it's going to go until the senior year.. which means more pi and kame.. but then again.. that's just a rumor
It hasn't even shown in Japan yet..haha Just wait a few more days~~
i think we are all waiting for episode 8. luckily i am still behind and on episode 3 still. I have HYD and 1 litre to wait for too. All these good dramas. and speaking from a Fanboy's perspective, all the Kawaii Girls in the dramas, so Kawaii.

I see. Yeah Akira's character is as goofy as ever, i think it puts more humor into the character cast and makes it more unpredictable, good for you fangirls. I guess i recognize him from Stand Up, and Dragonzakura. I thought the girl played a good role as Nobuta, and i enjoy the character development as the series progressed. I think she is cute, even as scary as she is with her hair, but she does get a bit better laters. Honestly, i have never heard of her before this drama.

yeah i agree with you on that, Nobuta is prettier than Mariko, although she's cute too. here's a pix of Maki Horikita(aka. Nobuta). not sure if she has her own thread yet, but here is a really nice scanned pix i have of her.

Yes, she's really more pretty than Mariko but mariko is allowed to smile in the drama....
