i have an awesome t3+ line... but thats cuz im at school. but at home our dsl is sooo slow... thats one reason im NOT looking forward to winter break

Its faster than 56k, but could be pretty damn slow compared to a t3 line (Which is wUber )


Lovely ntl here in the uk just gave me a free upgrade to a 10mb line! Got my torrents going at over 1300kbs the other day, which is a vast improvement

yea... i second that t3 is insanely fast so dsl seems so slow... and BT really slows everything down on DSL. here its unlimited bandwidth so.. its really nice.

still...DSL is much better than dial up....

but T3 is the best...i don't have that kind of luxury.

i settle for my dsl connection.

this is true. i remember when we first got DSL i was sooo happy. then coming to this school has made me a spoiled brat lol ahh well things will calm down, when i get home im sure ill get used to dsl within a few days.. or weeks.. as long as i dont use BT, its pretty fast.

yeah d/l's are ok, but using BT is slow, even with dsl.

i usually try to help out with the uploads(with completed torrents that i have), and while i am also downloading unfinished torrents.
but it is usually the uploaded torrents that really slow my comptuer while i surf the 'net.

Since your close to the M.I.T., Harvard and the dozen more colleges and Universities it makes sense. You're sitting on a major internet node and IIRC the MIT is the birthplace of the internet. You probably coudn't find a faster spot in the world.

I should have stayed there. The only thing I got from my time on Harvard's Campus, was a shirt and some Ben & Jerry Ice Cream. I should have downloaded stuff.

heh... im not only close... im there! you got it right... we are kinda the birthplace of the internet and the bandwidth is crazy.. i didnt realize it till i went home and saw how slow dsl was in comparison

ben & jerry's ice cream... yum... but yes... downloading is sooo much better
