I watching Shiroi kage [e] by Nakai Masahiro and Yuko Takeuchi. I did not know this show captivated me so much. Nakai and Yuko acting skill were superb. Very touching show. I'm only at disc 3 and can't wait to finish it.
I've been into family dramas lately, finished several family drama for the past few months. Currently watching Unmarried Family, it's pretty good so far. An usual drama, guy's wife left him, he moved in with his ex wife, dunno what will happen next. Forgot to mention the series features bmwracer's Ryoko, hehe. There is a cheesy backdrop in the series, they used the same office building inBeauty or Beast And another office is used, Heaven's Coin 3, Hiroto's father company
Kimi wa Petto - highly recommended because it's SO cute and hilarious!
Suekko Chounan Ane Sannin - rewatching because I love Fukatsu Eri!
...I am also watching currently airing in Japan dramas, too. When they're finally subtitled, I recommend Kusanagi Tsuyoshi and Koyuki's latest "Boku to Kanojo to Kanojo no Ikiru Michi" ("Me, Her and the life she leads" I guess is the translation?)! It's a really deep story about the child and parent relationship and how it's nothing without love. Tsuyoshi is really amazing, I had no idea he could be such a good actor (in a cruel way, too )
I am also trying to watch "Kanojo-tachi no Jidai" because it's on TV late at night, but it's super boring! I guess I wouldn't recommend it, even though there are big name actors in it...

Finished watching Mukodono (my husband) in one sitting. All I've got to say is wow. This drama manages to put humour and drama together with decent story. Highly recommended. I was emotionally drained by the end of the 12 ep marathon. Most of the time, humour in a serious show is put to a minimum in order not to seem out of place. This one has extreme humour and drama and make it seem like both elements belong together. Its akin to the main character's dual personalities.
Also finally finished Koi Ga Shitai (where is love) despite missing eps 5+6. One of the best dramas I ever watched with great characters, stories and plot twists. This is definitely not your typical romance drama. Its more sophisticated, less anime feel and very melancholy. Definitely one of the must watched dramas. Sorry can't elaborate on the story or it'll spoil everything.
Also watched Akimahende up to ep2. The best drama intro along with Hero. Typical outsider moves into family and solves their problems show. However, the humour is good and the use of techno-pop music, especially when the old lady gives her lectures is pretty amusing.
Finished Unmarried Family last night. Pretty unusual family drama but I liked it.

I'll list some (can't remember all the great titles): Investigator Mariko series, Home&Away, 24 Hrs Emergency Ward , Shota no Sushi, Mama's Genes, Yamato Nadeshiko, Beauty & Beast, Oyaji, Over Time etc.
