Actually I'm using the new Bit Current system which uses biological computing together with nano-technology and some magic to download whatever I want before I even know I want it. If you're not using it you're living in the stone-age man, THE STONE AGE ...

pssst stone age technology, you're living in the pre-big bang age. I just hook the data feed straight to my brain and download stuff at a Petrabyte per second. Free your mind, welcome to the real world.

From slashdot. Interview with the developer, highlights that it's not anonymous - hope nobody has been downloading Return of the King from suprnova .. Good to hear that he got a good job at Valve. Prepare to feel a little guilty that you never donated anything to Bram....

No wonder i wasn't able to get on to supernove site. Yeah i do feel kinda bad for not donating to Cohen. Is this the beginning of the end for BT since it is in the NYTime news? I don't want BT to gain so much publicity.

Yep, it's definitely on the radar scope of the movie studios etc., now. Also I couldn't believe that suprnova was mentioned! I guess the IP addresses of users are being logged somewhere.. Sweat

There's a certain elegance and simplicity to Bit Torrent that I like. I think for sharing legal stuff (linux distibutions, game demos etc.) it might be around for awhile - hopefully someone will come up with a more anonymous method for sharing 'private' data hehe

Yeah, a college student received a cease and desist letter from Vivendi Universal for downloading "Bruce Almighty" which tracked the IP address and wrote to the college but the college knew who's IP address and who was downloading and that is how the kid got the letter.

I talked to a kid who got busted for downloading and then seeding the "Spider-Man" movie and the IP was tracked to his home. He didn't get busted but he got a warning that if he continues, they will take the necessary steps to prosecute him.

Obviously it's no surprise when we hear stories of the music and movie industry going after people but the discussion of late, especially with Supernova.org is television shows. How it's a benefit for people outside of North America because where it takes years for them to watch a show, they can download it.

Here's an article on people downloading TV shows from supernova.org:

BT does not scale well, its reliance on the tracker puts a heavy load on the system at a single point of failure. I'm sure future protocol will use BT idea but will have a better distributed tracker like architecture.

Just take a look around the forums :

Sticky: BitBorrent Sites http://jdorama.com/viewtopic_841.htm

some links:
http://www.d-addicts.com/controller
http://encodes.free.fr/
http://drama.afraid.org/bt/japan-tv/active_torrents.html

Try browsing and using the search function at the top of the page before you start threads on topics which are obviously FAQs.

Okie... this is a cry for help!!!

Last year when I visited Jem's site, he recommended another BT client that allows the downloader to monitor several dl or uploads at the same time. It has an interface that is like any other p2p programme. I have checked through the few listed here but they don't seem to be the one. Anyone knows what I am talking about and where I can download?

Thanks

Are you sure you are not talking about Azureus? Here is the GAQ:

I think you're referring to torrentstorm. Never tried it though. In any case, there are a lot of clients now that offers multiple download/uploads at the same time like Azurues or Burst.

In Azureus, you can also pick a specific file(s) in a torrent pack to download like only downloading a specific episode in a torrent that contains the whole series. Very useful when u already have some episodes since u dont have to download the whole thing again.
