|
|
Hey all
Ok, when I was in Japan last August, there was a frankly brilliant tv show that me and my friend did our best to watch during our busy schedule.
Basically, from what I can remember, it was a fairly dark teen drama/comedy, and was about a group of teenagers and their daily lives.
I seem to remember they spent alot of time chilling out on their doorsteps and in the park chatting to a gang of girls.
It was a fairly relaxed programme, and was absolutely fantastic. One particular episode I remember was when they were deciding who should be the local council leader or something. There were 2 opposing candidates, and they had a group of followers supporting them. The kids were caught up in the event, and in the end things got pretty heavy. I think one of the mothers at the end of the episode did the cliche'd 'lets not fight, but work together' routine, and all ended well!
I think it was on at around 8 or 9 o'clock on a weeknight. I have no idea what is was called, but do any programmes match the above, vague description?!
Im desperate to try and track some dvds of it down, or find some bit torrents, so any help would be absolutely magic.
Many thanks
Dave

OK... I WANT TO KNOW, WHY THERE IS NO DRAMA WHICH TAKUYA, SORIMACHI AND DOHMOTO FEATURED TOGETHER? CAN ANYBODY GUEST?
OK... SAYONARA.... |
On October 2, 1995 SMAP, TOKIO and KinKi Kids got together for a special which was a variety show and also included a mystery drama segment featuring all three groups.
As for Sorimachi Takuya and Takuya together, your best bet is the movie "Kimi wo Wasurenai ~Fly Boys Fly~".

The movie came out back in 1995 I believe. The spotlight is pretty much on the misfit team of pilots in WWII with the leader being Karasawa Toshiaki, Kimura and Sorimachi are pilots. Sorimachi is enthusiastic about the military and being with the team of misfits and talks about how many planes he has shot down while Kimura is a pilot who is more human than soldier (the difference as his character would say... a human wouldn't let the war continue) that has long hair [note: I remember people had a problem with Kimura portraying a pilot who has long hair especially during the war].
The pilots have been brought together but they are not sure for what and why they are training.
As for the spotlight...it's more on Kimura because there is a connection between him and his superior (Karasawa), so you see Kimura more than Sorimachi (during this time, Sorimachi wasn't super popular but I do remember magazines covering him for quite a bit for this role...but then again, magazines were hot covering Kimura Takuya at the time more than anyone else).

I'm pretty sure you're thinking of the show "Stand Up", which aired on TBS over the summer last year. It's about a bunch of high school guys wanting to lose their virginity during the summer break of grade 11. It stars Ninomiya from Arashi. Some more info here - http://jdorama.com/drama_761.htm
If you are interested in getting the show, it seems like its being posted episode by episode on Womby's tracker (http://bunko.theppn.org) If you want DVDs, its already on sale from TBS Entertainment. |
Yuji, I cannot thank you enough! Ive just watched the first episode, and its even better than I remember it.
Thanks so much.
