I'll contribute to making it a memory
Makes you wonder what the TV stations in Japan are thinking, when they hound Youtube to remove all their content, but do nothing about fansubbers, D-Addicts and Silent Regrets etc? If they bothered making their products available English subtitled on DVD, they might find the DVD sales increasing

My thoughts exactly.
Hopefully in our lifetime, someone in Japan will wise up to this and end up making tons of money for such a simple idea...
Unless there's much more red tape involved than us outsiders know about.

How hard can it be?
Especially when they have people like you and thtl, who are willing to part with what is really too much cash for something that's not even subbed in English?

I'm no saint when it comes to download dramas. I justify it by thinking that this is a trial, and that I'll buy the real thing if I liked it enough. However promoting counterfeit box-sets seems to me a little too criminal-friendly.
I'm not really promoting the fact that people should buy the bootlegs. I myself have bought the original $200+ dollar set of Nodame. But since someone had posted here earlier about the other knock-off, they might as well get the other version that I posted.
Asian drama fans have always faced this dilemma anyways... buy the originals? Download? Or buy the bootlegs? It's a sad fact, but it's all in the nature of the Asian Drama world. Half of the Asian dramas on Yesasia is bootleg by the way and this is a supposedly reputable (legit) company.
If you think stuff like this shouldn't be posted... I guess Jdorama should remove all Asian Drama/Movie download links from the site as well.
So... don't get me started on criminal activity and the like... _________________

Really??? Which one(s)? I've bought mainland China , HK, and Japanese drama/movies from them and they're all legit. The Japanese drama/movies are licensed legit R3 HK/Taiwan versions, and so they're much less expensive than the original Japanese R2 ones. I bought the R3 HK version of Swing Girls and it is 16:9, has DTS ES and English/Chinese subtitles, trailer, making-of, etc. all for $14 shipped (it's about $11.5 if you actually buy it in HK). Of course the packaging is not as nice...

I know I walk a fine line here. While it is certainly not legal to download the dramas, in fact it is illegal to even sub them, it doesn't necessarily translate to loss of sales as the downloader may not have the intent to purchase. In the case of bootlegs the purchaser has, obviously, the intent to pay for the DVD box-set, which means one less sales to the legal distributor.
My comment did not imply you are in any way involved in the sale of counterfeits/bootlegs. I'm merely saying that a lot of us, me included, is already guilty of robbing the publisher/distributor in some way through downloading. Let's not make it ever worse by making bootlegs more readily available.
