Okay seriously, every single female student is talking about Twilight. My bro is going to see the new Bond flick today. I wonder if he'll like it. My colleagues told me it was a rip off the Bourne movies.

*shudder* Ughhh, same here. All my friends are really into it right now. I'm not really looking forward to watching this movie with a bunch of hormonal tween girls.

In some respects, yeah.

I think the Bourne movies are better.

That's been the general consensus. I'm interested to hear what my bro will say when he returns tonight.

More "Bourne"

Universal Pictures has made an overall deal with the estate of "The Bourne Identity" author Robert Ludlum that gives the studio exclusive rights to the Jason Bourne character and first look at other Ludlum novels.

The deal with Ludlum Entertainment paves the way for more installments in the Bourne saga, which was originally envisioned as a three-picture series but has become Universal's answer to James Bond.

After the first three films grossed a total of more than $1 billion worldwide, U signed Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass for a fourth film that George Nolfi is penning. Produced by Frank Marshall and Ludlum Entertainment chairman-CEO Jeffrey Weiner, the film will be readied for a summer 2010 release.

LOL, I was thinking the opposite: 007 is a fantasy spy character, whereas Bourne is more real.

Neither of them are very real, so I'd say they're both fantasy spy characters hehe From what I've heard, the new "Craig" Bond movies are closer to the original Ian Fleming novels than the other movies. Bond was suppose to be much rougher and ruthless than the polished, effete Bonds of movies past.

i.e., Roger Moore.

Yeah, Daniel Craig is a more grittier Bond, but the PG-13 rating keeps the Bond movies from being really good, I think.

I like the Bourne character more 'cause he's pretty much all business, rather than taking time off for a booty call and breaking the rhythm of the story.

Yes, Good will Hunting is correct. I really liked that movie, though the story was quite implausible.

Funny how many will remember Matt Damon for GWH ... even though he's had so many higher profile Hollywood roles since. It is weird to see him as an action hero, but he played the Bourne part well.

What about Matthew Broderick? Now he's gritty.

It'll be the one role he is forever remembered for...notwithstanding his longstanding career in Hollywood and on Broadway.

I always liked The Freshmen Brando spoofing himself, Maximilian Schell as a wacko chef and a cameo by Burt Parks Applaud
