I like quite a few Korean dramas. The ones I've seen are far from childish and have some of the more adult content I've seen in a drama. Try Coffee Prince or Hello My Teacher. It makes me Sad that this site doesn't list kdrama and jdrama.

All About Eve, ep 10. You did it again Wyn chan. Another until 3am 'can't stop watching' masterpiece with Chae Rim. And that gal who plays the bad girl, Kim So-yeon, is not hard to look at either... but not my type so I don't need to look for other dramas by her. hehe

This drama has plenty of suspense, not in a criminal way, but rather what deviltry will Huh Young-mi think up next. What a strange character mixture... one despises her and yet feels sorry for her at the same time. Doh!

Although I can't speed watch dramas like Wyn chan, I will probably finish this over the weekend.

Got sidetracked. Making a copy of Oh Pil Seung for Mara and of course ended up re-watching 4 episodes. This time around the ending made more sense since I spotted the date on the bottom when the couple in the train station did their little jumping act.

OT: I'm up to disc 10 of 11 of my rework of Churasan.

Isn't Kim So Yeon in the cast of the recent 'IRIS" I might be mistaken but I thought she was the North Korean spy who ended up working with Lee Byung Soo. she was really great in this role and a big change from previous roles she had played. I like her very much. good actress.

I can't take credit for this recommendation because I haven't seen All About Eve. I sent it to you as soon as I got a copy without watching it first. I'm glad you like it!

And you were right about me enjoying Oh My Lady. I'm LUFFING it! I love dramas with kids so this one is a gem!

Was IRIS a good drama, Peg? I recently got it but I've been reading mixed reviews about, so I keep pushing it off to watch the dramas near the top of the list.

Well IRIS was one of those secret service rather violent tales that you had to watch intently or you would lose the thread. Must say I did not see every bit of every episode. However it was interesting and Lee Byung Soo was extremely good. He had some pleasant love scenes with his leading lady which were somewhat bold for Korean drama.
It had a strange ending and a lot of viewers in Korean protested apparently. It did not quite make sense to me either but I think it may have been because Lee did not want to have to make a second series. This is being made with a slightly different cast.
The cast was very good and carried off a most intense story. Older actors are always good I think. Scenes were shot in several countries and the scenery in the Japan shoots was snowy and lovely.
I would think it well worth starting and watching for several episodes and possibly you would get throughly caught up in it.
Must say Lee knows his charms and how to turn them on for most satisfying effect.

Peg.

I have not checked back but I wonder if the drama 'SHINDON' has been on a thread here.

It was a marvellous period piece. Historic. Great cast and very dramatic and rewarding for the acting and the all around general good directing.

Definitely worth looking up.

"I Am Legend" Only two episodes of this show have been subbed so far, so it's gonna be a while. But if those two episodes are any indication.... this is gonna be a wonderful series.

It's basically the story of a group of ladies in their mid to late thirties. Life, and most of their choices haven't really worked out for them. So they decide to go back to being the girls they were in High School. And those girls were rockers.

I watched the first two episodes this morning, and I WANT MORE!!!

Quick negative note: Re: All About Eve. I love that cast... but I just couldn't get past episode 3. Way too much soap opera, melodrama for my tastes.

On the positive side... I agree with Peg. IRIS was a fun, rock'em sock'em spy story. I enjoyed the heck out of it. And the nice part (for me) is that Lee Bo Young is in the sequel... so I know what I'll be watching.

I finished All About Eve. It's a 10/10 drama. A clever, unexpected and novel ending for the antagonistic bad girl. I'm starting my next Chae Rim drama, Powerful Opponents. Watched a little last night to overcome the sense of loss I get after each Chae Rim drama ends.

Geezer, I know what you mean about the soap opera feeling. But since I'm a 15 year Y&R aficionado, I can handle the soap opera feeling and in fact thrive on it. Crazy Of course I'm so overwhelmed by Chae Rim now that she can do no wrong and any drama with her gets a pass no matter what.

Wyn chan I hope you get a chance to see this as I'm curious how you would react to it.

Ralph,

I know what you mean about following someone into almost any series they do.

I've been watching "Life is Beautiful". One of the long, family weekend dramas. This one was a lot rougher for me to get into than "Sons of Sol Pharmacy House"... But Nam Sang Mi is in it... so there was no way I was gonna miss it.

Funny thing is... as I've watched I've come to really like the show... but my lovely Sang Mi seems to be just phoning it in. I suspect she took a supporting role in the show so that she'd have time to devote to her movie career, while still keeping her name alive on TV.

The life of a fan can be very taxing.

I haven't liked that they focused so much on the law aspect of the show. At times I feel like I'm watching Partner again.

Episode 3 Powerful Opponents. Shameful Cry

Chae Rim how could you accept this role? Shake Head

It has all the feel of a Manga trying to be a human actor drama which I thouroughly detest. So far the plot is close to a non-plot.
Perhaps it will change after a while.

Nevertheless, Chae Rim, I won't desert you. I will stick it out to the end.

It is nice to see the actor playing the president again. (don't know his name). He was very good in Prince's First Love playing the father of the prince. He adds a bit of respectability to an otherwise silly waste of good actors. Bang Head

Episode 4 Powerful Opponenets.

Hmmm. Were the producers listening to my complaints?

The drama is starting to become vintage Chae Rim. Applaud Applaud Applaud

I'm beginning to enjoy it. Keep it up!!!

Another familiar face. One of the co-stars was the bad guy in Green Rose. Now he's a good guy.

Seeing more and more familiar faces, does this mean I'm becomming a Kdrama addict? Maybe, but I still have trouble remembering their names and pronouncing them is totally out of the question. I'm finally learning how to say 'yes' and 'no' in Hangul, a giant step. Nut
