They are little Chacha and Hatsu. Gou is still a baby back then.

Having kids in any acting drama/series/movie is always a big risk. They can work like with the teenagers in Musashi(except the chubby Otsu ) or Fuurin Kazan when they're used in short, dramatic flashbacks. Or they can be atrocious like the horrible acting in Tenchijin. Or split the difference like Atsuhime where the first girl sucked and the second was adorable; though neither added any value to the series except kill time for half the first episode. I just don't understand why the insistence on portraying the main character from birth. It adds nothing to character development and is waste of having such a talented lead when you don't use her.

I agree!

she's really good in there, so let's hope she does great as well in Gou. Though I'd have preferred having a young Gou as well.
