^^ Know you'll be happy to hear some positive Kyoko news. hehe

Keigo Higashinofs novel, Yoake no Machi de, which has sold over 1.2 million copies to date, is set in Yokohama and was originally inspired by the Southern All Stars song gLOVE AFFAIR ~Himitsu no Date~h. A chance encounter between Akiha Nakanishi (Kyoko Fukada) and her boss Kazuya Watanabe (Goro Kishitani) at a batting cage leads to friendship and, eventually, an adulterous love affair. However, Kazuya soon learns that Akiha is suspected in the murder of her fatherfs lover—a 15-year-old case which is set to reach its statute of limitations on March 31st.
Filming of gYoake no Machi deh will be completed by mid-March, with a release planned for Fall 2011.

^ I read that recently, but thanks for the update. Sounds very similar to Genya, another show based off of a Keigo Higashino novel that Kyoko's in. Maybe the two are becoming business partners. hehe

Unfortunately, that means that it probably won't be available on DVD for another year, and maybe longer (or never) until it's released here. I really need to get an all-region DVD player.

Now I think Kyoko should just stick to the short hair. For some reason, longer hair doesn't look as good on her as it did 5-10 years ago. It just looks so puffy in that picture.

BTW, is that Gakky the martian? hehe

Haven't seen too many new pics of Kyoko besides the ones we've posted, I'll look for some, hopefully she's stuck with the shorter hair. Mr Green
Nope, that sig is not Gakky, no one believes me but her and Masami look so much alike when Masami lets her hair grow. Shake Head

Actually bought the mangas, can get expensive buying them but luckily Remote is only 10 books long. Taking to reading some online now, many sites but most aren't so good, either too many ads or the series isn't finished, this site here looks the best if you're interested in reading it online. Trying to download Remote, doesn't appear to be too popular, could take a month to do it, may have to settle for viewing it online. Shameful Cry
I like her Lolita look, perhaps she should go back to it. Dancing

I just realized that Kyoko was only 15 when she was cast in Kamisama Mou Sukoshi Dake. That was a pretty "grown up" role. I can't believe that I haven't seen her in any other drama I have watched Head Scratch I really enjoyed her acting in KMSD.

I've probably seen her in 5 dramas or so, mixed resluts among them, thought her best 2 roles were in Otousan and SOS, but have a feeling her role in Remote is going to suit her well. Fingers crossed
More of our Lolita. Naughty

Aw.. too bad for her seeing as though she has been in a number of dramas. I wonder if there is a romance comedy shes been in that's halfway decent.

The 2nd picture is so cute! I like it. Ha ha I dressed up like Bo Peep for Halloween once. Mr Green

She's done romance, and she's done comedy, but never done both at the same time (except her recent movie, I think). I'm generally not a big fan of her comedy dramas, except Remote. She's good in comedic movies like Kamikaze Girls (a perfect movie for her lolita look Big Grin) and Yatterman. Kamisama is definitely a great drama.

I love SOS and like Otousan. My favorite drama by her is Friends, which was a Korean/Japanese collaboration. It's a simple romance story and no longer than an average movie, but it's really sweet. That drama was actually the one that got me into her and jdoramas in the first place.

BTW, iloveasiandrama, you've said before that you can't handle tear-jerkers but you watched Kamisama. I'm wondering how you got through it?

I am looking for Kamikaze Girls DDL's now w00t!

Tear-Jerkers - I meant that for Korean dramas primarily. I have not felt deeply sad or even close to crying on any jdorama so far. It's not that I "can't handle" them per se I just prefer to watch them maybe once in a while because romance comedies are my all time favorite. Mr Green

I don't cry easily so some sad dramas are not sad to me at all and it depends on the actors/actresses and how their characters are portrayed in the drama. It was a long time ago when I watched it but Kamisama was good because of Kyoko's role in addition to the parts of the story that exposed the realities of

That's probably why I want to see her in a comedy or romance comedy, I want to see her "redeemed" as in to see her in a lighter happier role in order to make up for having a character who had a hard time with life. Not sure if that makes sense. Nut Mr Green

Sorry! OFF TOPIC

Hi Ziliey w00t! Dancing I have been visiting this site for years and never registered until last month Crazy. I get better recommendations over here from people who are very knowledgeable and polite too.

I'm also learning about the Japanese culture on this site and it's pretty interesting and I know you love Japanese culture so much. It's good to see familiar people on this site. Mr Green Thanks for the warm welcome and pls keep recommend dramas!
