Maybe they're celebrating our tourist dollars. Victory! Peace!

We didn't do the tour this time. Just outside.
Loved walking to all the memorials. The FDR memorial was beautiful.
The MLK jr memorial was really weird.

No offense, but I think it's hella weird that the MLK memorial was designed by a Chinese artist. WTF????????????????????????????

Especially as MLK is frowning down upon you with his arms crossed looking ticked off. Where is the benevolence?
And why do the granite mountains look like something from Naruto?
Nut

I think they picked the artist out of economics. Made in China. Beaten

The quotes were weird too. They edited them so he sounded very self centered. Oh boy. Shake Head

This is an example of when the Eenie-Meenie-Miney-Moe method glitches.

The US Olympic Federation isn't far from that:

A closer review by the photo official determined that the two (Allyson Felix and Jeneba Tarmoh) had actually tied for the final spot on the team with a time of 11.068. Because U.S. track had no contingency plan for such a tie, things quickly delved into chaos. Should there be a runoff? Could it come down to a coin flip? Or would one of the women drop out, thus saving USA Track and Field the embarrassment of getting caught with its number down?
