Personally, did not receive those on my cell, but my parents told me they were getting them on their land line.

Enna update:

She got her power back finally - just a little while ago - but the cable connection to the tv and computer are still out - but she has heat coming up and hot water as well.

I'm so glad Enna is okay!

I'm really frustrated with our news. There has been very little coverage, if any, on what's happening in NY. At first I thought it was because everyone was so focused on the Elections, but now that they're over, there's still no news about aftermath of the storm.

I feel the same frustration. Except for the local NYC stations not much is available. Even googling specifics is difficult. My sister went down to wall street the other day. Closed buildings all over. It's just a mess.

@ Tu- Mama was surely a bear when she was stuck in the South, lol.

I was able to find lots of news and pictures of the damage on Long Beach Island and Seaside Heights in New Jersey. I am totally shocked because I used to go down to Beach Haven most every weekend when we lived in Bucks Co. PA and the island was like a different place altogether. There was only the one causeway onto the north end of the island. Once there you were in a new country and it was heaven. No large hotels and no great commercial stuff. Just houses and rentals and people enjoying the beaches and having a really laid back summer. When I saw the first hurricane pictures it was like a totally different world. No beaches just sand dunes up over the main drag. Houses in shambles and nobody in sight except a few authority people. It must be the most awful shock to people who lived or rented there. Even if they rebuild, it won't ever be the same. That was all like nineteenth century feelings gone away. All that was there will never be re captured. I am so sad. It was part of my life and it's gone.

yea i got something to say ...i been gone to long ...so much to catch up on and not much time ... all the news .. whose now married which group member is no longer with the band and dont talk about the dramas ahhh soo much ... but ill try to catch ...unless some wanna summarize for me

Monday has come and gone, and to the surprise of no one, nothing has changed.

Last Wednesday I went to the LA Opera for my first time to see Italian composer Puccini's Japanese tragedy, "Madame Butterfly." It was wonderful. Kind of ironic my first experience at the opera happens to be the one of a Japanese love story. Go figure.
