PostPosted: Tue Feb 03, 2004 3:36 pm    Post subject: Hair/Hair Styles Reply with quote Back to top

Since the summer I've started to grown out my hair longer than usual (always used to have a simple blend with a messy bed-head look) and I've had it cut twice by stylists.

Well...I know it's a little odd but I really like KT's hair in Good Luck. Any episode pretty much says it all, it's pretty awesome, even right when he gets out of bed.

So Two questions I'd like to ask all of you:

1) What should I tell my stylist when he cuts my hair when the time comes? (layer, texturize, etc?)

2) Styling products to get my hair to hold like KT's? I use paste/glue already but I need something that goes on a little easier yet holds throughout the day.

I know these are slightly Off topic questions but I just said to myself what the hey just throw it out there.

thanks!

why dont u just look for a nice pic of him and bring a picture and show it to them? and explain how u want it, then right after its done, ask them for treatments like what u need to do everytime u wake up~ Rolling eyes

i always bring a pic whenever i get a haircut, unless they already know who i am.

theres like hair products for guys that u could use for good volume shaping and direct random pieces, try getting like a dry wax/gel combo.. i think switchtrix would be a nice one, that might cost at least $12-20.. yes its expensive u wont find that on any grocery store though, try looking for a hairstyle shop or something.. but anyway, why not ask some guys here that has nice haircuts, they might know something more Rolling eyes

before you wanna go and get a haircut, try going to that shop i told u and ask them for a good tip for that kinda hair, or yeh bring a picture like i said before.. im no pro or anything but thats how we do it, u dont wanna spend on something that ure not sure of, goodluck! Mr Green

what is with the rolling eyes??

anyway...I've already tried American Crew Fiber and forming creme. I've heard of the new "trix" line by Matrix, I have a hair products store just down the street.

yeah, just waiting for anyone else to chime in.

Too thick? nah, just ask your haircutter/stylist to thin your hair all around. S/he will most likely use thinning shears, and then he can texturize it to match KT's.

His hair is really long actually if you've noticed. Only the top of the head and the cowlick area are texturized and jagged.

i think it also depends on your ethnicity as well. i'm asian, and my hair is SO straight, even if i were to go to a stylist and do it in the way kimutaku in good luck, the stylist can only do so much. it seems to me that caucasian's hair is thinner, but more option. asians hair tend to be thicker, but limited styles. any thoughts?

My hair's really thick too, I've even pricked my fingers with it. Crazy
I used to use hairproducts when I had shorter hair but now it all just gets screwed up if I do it.
So now I don't even bother to use anything anymore.
But everytime I cut my hair I ask for a straggling style so it doesn't matter how messy my hair gets it still looks the same.

do u use to dye ur hair by any chance? cuz i heard if u dye it too much ur hair will eventually get screwed.. but if not.. then probably its just normal.. for some reason, i have medium-thick hair too, but since ive been using treseme shampoo, it gone straight all of a sudden Big Grin maybe its a matter of what shampoo u use? idk.. but thats just my experience Mr Green

I've never dyed my hair before but I'm thinking about doing it. Smile
What I mean with screwed is that it never gets as I want it.
Always curls where I don't want it to.
And I'm not so sure of what kind of shampoo I use.
Before it was just some cheap budget variant.

Hi Turdz,

I asked the same question on the SMAP thread several weeks ago and there are pics of his hair on that thread. I'm actually going for Kimura's style of hair during the December 30th broadcast of SmapxSmap which is darker with the blonde tip highlights but there are photos with his current hair which he went a bit chapatsu/lighter on the hair.

I use paste and very little hairspray but in this instance, after you get out of the shower or wet your hair, for the back side have your hairdryer ready and hairspray and hold certain piecs of your hair and spray, hairdry and you'll get the sticking out part at the back.

I don't know how your current hair looks right now, so I wouldn't know what to say but definitely have a picture of all sides if you can and give it to your hairstylist. The one posted on the SMAP thread under artists has some good photos of Kimura Takuya from the side and front.

Bare in mind, in terms of looking for something that will hold that hair, and going for the Kimura Takuya hair, you will not need to use paste anymore. I used paste strictly for when I got a Nakata Hidetoshi haircut and it was very short and slightly shaved and wanted certain spikes to hold. In this case, I recommend hairspray for the back. You can use it for the front, but liquid gel can work the same way as well.

I'm still trying to grow out my hair a little more. I also like Kashiwabara's hair for the Toyota IST ads.

kndy

man, it seems that all the guys in this thread is growing their hair out! Me, i'm trying to grow it longer than my usual 'marine corps' flat top into something normal people would have.
