^ hehe, I just finished watching ep07 with English subs too.
Actually I'm liking the glimpses of Hideyoshi's craftiness. My favourite moment of the previous ep was when he had the idea of starting a false rumour.
With Ieyasu's attitude at the beginning of this one, the Senryū cited by Wikipedia about the three "unifiers", comes quite to life:
Quote:
* Nakanunara, koroshiteshimae, hototogisu (If the cuckoo does not sing, kill it.)
* Nakanunara, nakashitemiseyou, hototogisu (If the cuckoo does not sing, coax it.)
* Nakanunara, nakumadematou, hototogisu (If the cuckoo does not sing, wait for it.)
Nobunaga, known for his ruthlessness, is the subject of the first; Hideyoshi, known for his resourcefulness, is the subject of the second; and Ieyasu, known for his perseverance, is the subject of the third verse.

So ka... So Ieyasu's plan is to sit on the sidelines to watch while things get sorted.

So what's up with his topknot?
Like yanie mentioned a while ago, this drama is making Ieyasu look like an Oda vassal, instead of an independent daimyo who is an ally.
He should've had that knot since long ago, right after becoming independent from the Imagawa clan when Nobunaga defeated and killed Yoshimoto in 1560...and this drama starts in 1568.
In my translation, I've tried to give the word "lord" to only actual independent daimyos like Nobunaga, Ieyasu, Yoshimoto, etc. And the word "sir" to everyone else, including vassal-daimyos like Hideyoshi, Mitsuhide, etc.
I was hoping by giving the word "lord" to Ieyasu, it'd be easier to see that he's supposed to be on the same level as Nobunaga. But all the little things (hairstyle, being always at Oda's events, etc) make it impossible, lol
Edit: in ep 6, I gave the word "lord" to Akechi, but only when Saito Toshimitsu addresses him as such (ue-sama). His other vassals still address him as "tono," these instances I still used "sir."
