Just finished watching this drama, which is evident by the puffiness and redness of my eyes.
My Review: 10/10
Itfs really hard for me to come up with enough things to say about this drama. I mean, when you watch such a brilliant work of art, the artists involved donft leave the opportunity for you to grasp onto something and express its faults.
Beautiful Life is just a grand, heartwarming drama that touches the soul. At has everything for the serious romantic: Romance, lust, angst, heartache, fluff, truth, etc. The storyline was written with incredible emotion and the plot was performed with a will of its own. The pairing of Kimura Takuya and Tokiwa Takako was perfect. I was really impressed with Takako, since this was my first time seeing her in a drama. Ifve seen Takuya in Pride, and although he plays a similar role in this drama, it was perfect for the character. Yet again he managed to capture his audience with the emotion he emits from his eyes | much in the same way Takakofs emotions blossomed from her incredible smile.
The sub-plots were nicely woven into the main plot, but I almost wish that the drama had extended to include another episode. I found the last few episodes a bit rushed and I would have liked to see more of Shujifs and Kyokofs life while living together. This, of course, is merely a selfish whim of mine.
This was altogether a beautiful drama, and I highly recommend it to all. _________________

By about episode 3 or 4 you've got a pretty good idea how it's going to turn out, but when it happens, you STILL feel like you've been run over by a freight train. BTW, I loved Atsuro Watabe's performance at the way-overly protective older brother! |
Yesh, me too! And that undertone of jealousy towards the man who may take over his place as the protector of his precious sister. He was so grand at portraying his thoughts through his facial expressions. _________________

My bad. I've put spoiler tags around the sensitive contents in my post.

I was surprised this thread is so short too. Probably everyone preferred to post on the page for this drama instead.
I finished watching this 2 days ago and like it a lot. The insights and nuances into the mind of disabled people, and how it affect those around Kyoko in this story, was very well done I thought. Kyoko's smile was so radiant, that made me really like her. Both of the leads' acting were great, but perhaps because I am a bit withdrawn and inexperienced, I didn't find it as moving as what most people have been saying. There were many memorable scenes for me, most of them probably at the beginning.
Even though I like "1 Litre of Tears" more, I would really like to watch this again for the 2nd and 3rd time, possibly more. I have the feeling I am not appreciating this jdorama as much as I should.
9/10 for me.
A slightly OT question: what are the best jdorama by Tokiwa? Apart from this one. I really like her in this, but her other ones seem to be much less well-known/recommended.
Thanks for your help in advance.
