Nope. but you might be suprised that Tom Cruise speaks Japanese in the movie!! and not short easy phrases too. He speaks whole conversations.

I just came back from seeing the movie and I have to say I liked it. I dont care how inaccurate the history or how over dramatized it was. It was good, bloody and with a hot Japanese women. ^_^

Oh she was in "Beautiful Life". I was wondering where I've seen her.

How did she get to be in the movie?? Did Tom Cruise or someone else just choose her or was there an audition or something?

Well, I finally got back after seeing the movie Saturday morning with my cousin... The verdict?? It's an EXCELLENT movie... Applaud

Great swordplay and battles, and some tense, emotional sequences. I really got into it. I suppose you might say it's like Dances with Wolves in Japan, but there's nothing wrong with that.

I know I'm going to see this movie again.

btw nice review bmwracer

I also hear this movie has a similar concept to an old 1980s film called Shogun. Its about a white dood who gets shipwrecked in Japan and finds himself in the middle of the Shogun/Emperor war. I personally haven't seen this movie but would like some elaboration from someone who has. Who knows maybe i'll go out and rent Shogun, especially after seeing The Last Samurai.

Yep. I have the DVD box set of Shogun (five DVDs, nine episodes). Very good miniseries. It doesn't have the epic feel as The Last Samurai because it was a TV miniseries and was limited by a budget, but still very good.
