Not completely unexpected, Darvish done for the rest of the year:
ARLINGTON, Texas, Sept. 6 (12:09) Kyodo
Texas Rangers right-hander Yu Darvish will not pitch again this season, the club said Saturday.
The 28-year-old Darvish was placed on the disabled list on Aug. 13 due to mild inflammation in his right elbow and the Rangers have decided not to risk him again this term.
"It's kind of one of those deals -- if we wanted to be aggressive and push it, we could get him back the last week," general manager Jon Daniels said. "But we don't see any value in that. There is a lot more risk to it."
Darvish, whose last start was against the Houston Astros on Aug. 9, admitted that he was disappointed that his season has been shut down.
"I have to go by what the doctors and the trainers say, so it is what it is," Darvish said. "Since I haven't picked up a ball I can't really tell, but I think it's getting much better."
"My job is to throw throughout the season so I'm disappointed I wasn't able to complete my job," said the former Nippon Ham Fighters ace.
Darvish will continue rehabilitation and if MRI scans come back clear he will start throwing again before the end of the season.
Darvish ends his third year in the majors with a 10-7 record from 22 starts. He finishes the season with a 3.06 ERA with 182 strikeouts.

If the Dodgers play anything like they did in yesterday's 16-2 blowout loss to the Rockies, not too many people are going to watch those games.

Yup. He came unglued faster than you can say "Kaz Ishii". Halos lost again in extra innings. Could be an all-Missouri World Series.

Interestingly, it could be an all-California one or an all Maryland-DC one as well.
EDIT: Maybe not the latter, after the Nationals lost again.

Now up to 26 years since a World Series. They're going to catch the Cubs pretty soon.
I don't care who wins now as long as it's ABBC (Anybody But the Cardinals ).
Although when it comes to the Series I'll probably pull for the American League just because the last time either one of them won it Reagan was still in the White House and Hideo Nomo was a teenager.

For me, it's American League all the way... Anyone but the Cards or the Giants.

Scoring two runs in the first on an infield single, hit by pitch, fielder's choice, and an error, KC beats the Orioles 2-1 going to their first World Series since 1985.
The Royals have not lost a game all post-season.
