Shimokita Sundays had an interesting story which felt unique and deviated itself from all other dramas. The plot starts off slow with the introduction of Aya Ueto's character, Yuika. Yuika's character is very different from what Aya's other roles are, so it was interesting seeing Aya's ability to portray her. The cover art for the drama is kind of a turn off due to Yuika having a weird haircut, but I'd figured I give Aya a chance and I was glad I did. Most of the show is filled with awkward and funny moments while having a consistent melancholic feel and each episode gets progressively better. Chances are, if you're an Aya fan, you'll give it a shot and you'll either love it or hate it. |

Shimokita Sundays had a good idea and story behind it but lacked of originallity and should have been way more funny.
They could have done much more with the idea and good cast.
There were many stetched and boring times and I watched it mainly because of Aya.
However, the cast and story were good.
And, as always I have to say how excellent Aya was ^_^
With her great way to play Yuika she really was the best part about SS. Super cute and funny.
But I must say that SS later became better with every episode. The last 2-3 were quite good. It had a slow start though. |

The heroine, misled without dreams and hopes for the future is finding her way back to a good life and learning the important things that make life woth living.. Pay attention to the things happening in the background of the screen, can be very funny. Lovely Soundtrack. This Dorama proves again the versatility of Ueto Aya. |

Yes...u wouldn't understand the whole story in the beginning but overall after epi 2 it all makes sense...there might be over-reacting laughing weird guys but i went through laugh and tears and totally no regret watchin it..i felt sorry for those who didnt watch this..(just my opinion) and the theme song were fantastic.. |

Kinda funny to me, though hard to understand some of the jokes. It takes a while to get used to but other than that it's a pretty good drama as it is Ueto Aya. She's not too much a clown but she's cute for trying! |

Enjoyable nonsense, Sasaki Kuranosuke is good as usual but unfortunately the script did not allow Yamaguchi Sayaka to show what she's capable of.This will probably appeal only to Aya Ueto fans. |
