| 48-year-old Sudo Tomozo (Watabe Atsuro), a former assistant inspector from hell who was with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s First Investigative Division, sustained injuries in a case and was taken off from front-line investigation. He is assigned to a department for deadwood, the General Affairs Department’s Animal Unit which takes care of the pets of suspects and missing persons. This is where he meets 22-year-old Usuki Keiko (Hashimoto Kanna) who is a graduate of veterinary medicine and crazy about animals. Sudo gets exasperated with Keiko who loves animals more than humans and rushes headlong in her own direction. However, the appearance of the pets left at the scenes are clues to her. She makes astonishing inferences from her immense knowledge and keen powers of observation. As a result, Sudo and Keiko partner to solve cases one after another. |
