Synopsis

Abandoned at the age of five by her mother, deaf and mute Mahiru Morita's life has been filled with sorrow. Living with adoptive parents in Okinawa, she is also routinely treated cruelly at home and at school. But hope springs eternal as she dreams of one day finding her true mother living in far-off Tokyo. Can her dream come true? When young Kazuki, a young man attending university in Tokyo, comes to visit Okinawa on a scuba diving expedition, a life-threatening incident brings the two young hearts together. As their adventure unfolds, young Kazuki recounts to Mahiru the fable of how a young girl is showered with coins from heaven in admiration of her purity of heart. Is Mahiru the one?

If i'm going to be honest the only reason I thought about watching Shin Hoshi no Kinka was because of Fujiwara Tatsuya.
Him being my second favourite Japanese actor. Narimiya Hiroki being my first. In my opinion this series isn't draggy at all.
There two episodes where it does get a bit draggy but it's not so much you give up watching. Apart from those two episodes it's become one of my favourite drama's. I have also learnt a bit of sign language. Since I have seen this, The other Heavens Coins and Orange Days. But I dont wish to take up sign language.
But it is beautiful and I love watching Mahiru. Her not speaking does not put me off at all. For everyone who's see's this. Dont miss this drama. I'm glad I didn't. Because It's become one of my favourites. I also liked how they linked the first two Heaven's Coins with number 3.

I'm starting to like Hoshino Mali. Although she's not that pretty but i think she's kawaii. This drama have a wonderful theme song, it's so touching yet it's cute.
My fav. part is when Mahiru jumped to the sea after she run to chase the ship. Then Kazuki also jumped out from the ship. It is so romantic and touching.
The ending is also not bad compare to the old version, Shin Hoshi No Kinka have an ending which we can call it a happy ending, which is yes. Kekek.. Well it is happy. They are together! What else that we can ask for.
So i do enjoy this drama. So you guys gotta check it out as well.

OK, so I never watched the original nor its sequel, so go ahead, flame me... But I still think this was one of the best doramas I've watched. Hoshino, in his first leading role, shows a lot of promise to be a great actress. The supporting cast works good for their ages and don't seem to "pretend" to be something they are not.

And the best part of all - this one ACTUALLY had a GOOD ending. I won't say GREAT since the ending situation isn't so good (see for yourself!) but it's still satisfying.

The theme song as sung by Hoshino is great and has me hooked as well. Too bad most idiots who think this is Rocky III may overlook it.
