While I've enjoyed Yutaka Takenouchi and Sorimachi Takashi in many other dramas, this one was just fair. The story really goes nowhere. The only reason to enjoy this drama is the beach and the two eye candy actors, as the plot is so unbelievably thin.

Very strong and attractive casts. Nice songs too. Definitely one of the classic show.

Ifm not at all surprised that this drama won awards for Best Casting and Best Screenwriter, among others.

The storyline is very simple. Two very different guys meet and embark on a journey to find their own dreams, while living and breathing the ocean during a fateful summer. The plot for each episode is sometimes not evident, and Ifm not even sure if anything ever really happensc but what makes this drama so great is the way the characters develop. I was hooked with the very first episode. By the second, I was already breathing with the characters. Everything about this drama is so real and raw.

The actors and actresses arenft acting. Theyfre being. Sorimarchi Takashi was absolutely brilliant, and Takenouchi Yutaka was so honest and truthful. Hirosue Ryoko, whom Ifve only ever enjoyed in Summer Snow, has added another of her dramas to my list of favourites. And Inamori Izumi! My goodness. Ifve found her annoying in everything Ifve seen her in, but shefs definitely redeemed herself with this role. Ifve never felt so dearly for a character as Ifve felt for hers watching Beach Boys.

The drama is not perfect, but Ifve given it a 10/10 because it was truly a pleasure watching such fine characters grow and breathe.

An Ok Jdorama..I recommend jdorama fans to watch it just for the sake of seeing Sorimachi Takashi and Yutaka Takenouchi on their earlier works...still kawaii! but I dont like the ending...well if you call that an ending..its like the viewers was left hanging..well...

I shunned away from this drama the first time beacuse I felt it was too slow; all the dramas I've seen at the time were pretty fast paced. But this time I buckled down and watched it and to to my surprise, it was a very well made drama, that is, if you allow yourself to get immersed in it. It is not face paced, and there's a lot of character development since it mainly focuses on the two guys, so that had a lot to work with. It's pretty much a friendship thing between two guys, and since there's isn't alot of conflict, hate, and all those other things found in dramas to spice up the plot, so it's easy to lose interest.
The two leads are both big now, plus Hirosue Ryoko. So in retrospect, it's an all star cast, so it's a real treat to watch all three of them. Overall, a soft, easy going drama that leaves you feeling light hearted.

I may be a more late in watching this drama but it didnt bother me. again starting Takashi Sorimachi but this time with Takenouchi Yutaka. this drama is very relaxing specially the beach and the Inn, perfect location. dont expect a good plot. just enjoy every episode in it. again the ratings of this one is high again because of the charisma of the two guys. overall a great drama again by Takashi Sorimachi. This is just one of the best all time guys bonding dramas ever. Sorimachi and Takenouchi at first seem like the odd couple but it amazing how living in a beach house brings everyone together. See more info and vid highlights

I like this drama, I like Takashi and Yutaka, but it's so bored sometimes... It's interesting, but not in every episodes...

My favorite Japanese drama series is Beach Boys. This show has everyone of my favorite actors and actresses. The story is compelling, heartbreaking and uplifting. I laughed, cried, and was inspired.

Takenouchi Yutaka as Suzuki Kaito
I first saw him in Long Vacation and thought that he did a terrific job as the bad boy brother.

Sorimachi Takashi as Sakurai Hiromi
I first saw him in GTO, my second favorite series. I loved it as did almost everyone else, still #1 by a long shot.

Hirosue Ryoko as Izumi Makoto
What a great actress, I first saw her in Long Vacation, she must be either great or magical as she stars in the top 3 dramas I think she is at her best in this one.

Inamori Izumi as Maeda Haruko
My very reason for watching Japanese dramas, she starred in the first drama that I every watched I downloaded it from Usenet one episode a week Pretty Girls If she hadn't been so captivating I might never have checked out more dramas

My only complaint about Beach Boys is that I can't seem to find a decent copy of it. I would glady buy an English subbed version if the company that owns it ever releases it. As for now I'll squint and watch my avi files a couple of times a year, its like a trip to the ocean for me.

Watch this series over the summer! The relaxed pacing of this jdrama makes this great to watch during the summer. The camaraderie between the cast members was evident although the plot throughout the entire series didn't really go anywhere. Still, a fun series to watch to pass the time!

An extremely disappointing drama! Too much of a good thing is really a bad plate! Serve it cold, just like the storyline, serve it hot, Yutaka and Takashi warm and tickle my taste buds. The first 10mins of the show was hilarious and cheeky. I managed to watch disc 2 and could not continue despite the hunks. Gomen guys!

Classic of the Classics! It's the jap drama tt glued me and alot of Singapore fans to jap dramas... it also made me like Takashi Sorimachi... Loved the way they mixed laughters and tears together.... and who can forget the songs "forever" and "sing a love song for me"?

Well I must say I realy enjoyed this drama it was a great drama to watch. Takashi played his normal goof off role kind of like in GTO and in Cheap love. He is realy good in those types of roles. Also Yutaka was awsome too. He looked realy young in this kind of differnt then usual he played a business man that was trying to relax and have a vaction and it turned out to last for about 3 months. It is a good summer drama it was great to watch I love the charactors and the actors very much. I would recomend any body to watch this drama. Watch it!! it is a must see.

Two amazingly handsome guys with good plot. The story is a lot fun and still meaning. I can watch this over and over and over again without feelnig bored. However, don't expect this level of performance of the beach boys special.

This dorama was kinda slow, so it is only okay. Still haven't seen the end and don't feel a need to. This probably explains it all.
