Synopsis

Ayu is a young prostitute who has lived a meaningless life, until she meets a young boy named Yoshiyuki. The boy is the grandson of a woman who greatly effected Ayu's life.

Ayu and Yoshiyuki, despite his heart problems and her dark past, love each other to the fullest. However, Yoshiyuki's father forbids their relationship and together, the two must face the obstacles that stand in the way of their deep love.

Eh...it was a "decent" tribute to the manga. I don't believe the screenwriter captured the full essence of Deep Love (unapologetic and hopelessness) but I have to give them credit for nailing the characters down. They were perfect IMO and because of that I can overlook the screenwriter's attempt at trying to make this a dark comedy. (when it clearly isn't)

If you're serious about watching this drama, I'd strongly suggest reading the manga Deep Love: Ayu No Monogatari beforehand.

it's really really dark and I could not finish it however it does what it sets out to do so I give it an 8 anyway. you know I kind of relate to Ayu except I'm male and don't sell myself but I share her boredom with the world and I wonder if love will save me
