Genrescomedy family romance

Synopsis

Amamiya Kuniyuki is the unemployed son of a Tonkatsu restaurant owner. He finds a job that requires a married person, so he lies by saying that he has plans to marry, and he is forced to keep up the charade using Hida Haruno, a part-time worker from the restaurant. The relationship between the two is the key of this romantic comedy, though the series also focuses on family and friendship through Kuniyuki's interactions with the other characters.

9 / 10

This drama wanted me begging for more. It was kinda annoying, since Kuniyuki kept running in circles. First this girl... Then that girl... Then he ends up with a totally different girl. It pissed me off when he didnt end up with the girl I wanted him to end up with, but Haruno was okay as well. And I barely saw any of Ueda. And on his first drama, Its sad. :))

But even so, I still give it uh... 9 out of 10. It was cool, as of my P.O.V. I wouldnt like to spoil anything so my writing will stop here.

Good series plagued by bad ratings

Nakai Masahiro's first dorama in nearly 5 years, CX probably expected the viewership ratings of this Mon@9 series to be in the 20s.

The acting in this series is embarrassing. Nakai Masahiro was not Amamiya in this series, he was himself, Ueto Aya is horrible as usual, and Satou Ryuuta is hopeless. BUT! The first few episodes had the feel of "Koi ni Ochitara" (by same director), and in my opinion very fun.

However, marriage is not something of interest for the Japanese today, and there was also that Kusanagi Tsuyoshi scandal. It is clear to me that the scriptwriters and the director gave up in this series half-way through. A getsuku that didn't even get extended finale.

It was a so-so series that didn't meet my expectation. FujiTV made a mentally retarded decision of casting Ueto Aya, AKA "Low viewership rating queen", and wasted the opportunity of Nakai's comeback.
