Synopsis

When the Inoue family moves into their new residence, they are shocked to see everyone there so anxious about getting their children into good schools. In order not to be the one left out, they also join in the crowd and train their child hard to score well in the primary school entrance exam. Interestingly, their next door neighbour has a kid the same age as theirs and always likes to compete with them. This makes the whole exam process more exciting and stressful, of course.

I was so young then maybe 7 or 8? almost 14 years ago I watched it. I still remember it :D Then I googled for the title for what took me soo long and I found it. It is one of the best japanese drama i have seen to date. What we have now is uncomparable! Really hilarious and the little boy was really cute. My parents allowed me to watch even though it was showing really late at 11pm? because it was so funny :) Hope I can rewatch it someday ^^

Absolutely brilliant. For someone who is easily entertained, itfs been a long time since Ifve seen a drama THIS good. I love it through and through. I had some reservations when I first started watching it. Although many people claimed that they thought it was great, I thought the synopsis was a bit boring. A drama about parents competing to get their children into the best schools? Not exactly exhilarating. When I saw that Yamaguchi Tomoko was in the starring role, I decided to give it a try. I have loved Tomoko-san in everything Ifve seen her in, and this has become one of those dramas.

Yes, this drama is about parents competing to get their kids into the best school, and because the drama is about this, it delves into the family home. It was very fun to watch the different families function. This is one of those rare dramas where I wasnft remotely bored at any time during any episode. I had a ball with every single one.

The casting was perfect. I thought Fukaura Kanakofs character was hilarious and Takagi Sayafs character was very likable. The little boy who plays Tomokofs son was adorable and I was very attracted to Fuse Hiroshi. Nogiwa Yoko, who I adore, is absolutely magic, and although I still believe that her role in Honmamon is perhaps her best, this oen comes in at a close second. And of course, Tomoko-san proved yet again why she is the best actress of her time.

I love this drama and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serious comedy.

It's pretty good.

This is a drama screened about ten years ago. I haven't seen some of the actors before. But it's a pretty cute drama. It focused a lot on family business. Such as whether or not they're saving enough money for the kid's tutoring, or if their husbands are having affairs a lot. Yamaguchi Tomoko and Takagi Saya played very adorable housewives.
