The film Umizaru focuses on Daisuke Senzaki, a trainee salvage and rescue diver in Japan's Coast Guard's elite team of divers. The training is tough; the situations they face pushes their physical and emotional strengths to the limist. Senzaki is paired with Yuji Mishima, his rival diver, when Senzaki's weaker dive buddy dies in an accident. Then comes the ultimate test when Senzaki and Mishima are trapped below 40m of water with one tank of air, enough to take only one to safety. What will he do?

This movie is incredible! Hideaki Ito's acting and the storyline sometimes took my breath away. I specially love the colour in this movie.
Friendship is really a miracle, and, being able to see this movie, it's a miracle, too. YOU MUST SEE IT!!

Ok, this is definitely a typical macho movie where the guys get to flex their muscles and show off their superiority but it's also a very enlightening movie, never knew much about the dangers divers had to go through till I watched this movie.
It's also a movie for us gals to drool and the hunks in this movie, the guys certainly worked out well to show off their well toned bodies here. One of my fav scenes in this movie is of them in their birthday suits standing at the full length window looking out into the sea, phew, the temperature in my room rose to an all time high! hee hee
As the rest have said, it's mainly about the importance of the buddy system in this movie and about male bonding and working as a team and having faith in ur team.
I'm looking forward to watching the dorama once it becomes available in vcd later this year.
