| Shindo Minato (Yamazaki Kento) was born with autism spectrum disorder and savant syndrome. Despite his problems communicating, he has an astounding memory. Minato’s older brother realised his gift and encouraged him to become a doctor in the future. Minato meets with the town’s doctor Shiga Akira (Emoto Akira) because of an incident with his brother. He decides that he wants to be a pediatric surgeon and begins to visit Shiga’s clinic frequently. Surprised that Minato could memorise all the human organs at the age of seven, Shiga commits to helping Minato’s fulfil his dream. After Minato graduates top of his medical faculty and passes the national exam for medical practitioners, Shiga who is now the director of a large hospital, calls him to work as a resident at the hospital’s pediatric surgery department. Minato takes the plunge into this world. Although he faces prejudice and opposition from the people around him, he is there for the children and grows up in the process. |
