I've seen Takayuki Yamada in, Water Boys, the tv series. Heh, I should've known he'll be casted in the opposite-elemental to his previous acting gig, Fire Boys. He did a very neat work on portraying the determined, Shindo, in Water Boys. Now he's a fire fighter blazing with the flames and such.

Fire Boys is a captivating show to watch. It just follows one young boy's path to the career he chose. Whether it involves self-endangerment or with his co-workers, he learns that there's so many reasons to be strong about other than putting out fires. It mainly deals with his fear that still seems to haunt him from his past. A past of what opted him to be a fire fighter.

Other than putting it up with the immense heat. Being scolded by your superiors and cooking the staff's food are another of his chores around the station, whether he likes it or not.

I guess Fire Boy's overall epitome is that sometimes, Daigo tries so hard sometimes that he doesn't know he's actually causing more to make matters worse. And you can't blame him for that, he's a rookie and he only does what he believes is right and for the best - something we (in reality) sometimes do. One more thing, the ED song is a kicker, A Road Home, by Orange Range. It's like a fusion of alt.-rock and rap.

You'll probably wanna watch this if you're a bookworm or someone who likes to watch trivial shows like Jeopardy or something. While the casting and dialogues are brilliant, it lacks the action necessary to make this show more worthwhile. The first eps. was filmed inside a classroom for about 80% of the time. I know the horny guys won't mind seeing the babes, but seriously, let's be fair and real here. (and grow up too...pervs)

A pretty touching drama. It inspires one to fulfill the good ambition(s) you have in life no matter what obstacles you may encounter.

Joshinana has those attributes, with a mixture of highly emotional stage directions (especially the protogonist) and a bit of comedy as well. However, for those drama purists, it doesn't involve any romantic relationships though. But otherwise, Joshiana maintains its dramatic compositions.

Like everyone has said, it's worth watching Joshiana. Not only it implies people to reach their dreams, it also shows that sometimes your enemy could also be your friend. ^_^

24-hour Emergency Ward, as Nanako fan above stated, is quite the Japanese ver. of E.R. It's more like action drama that involves a lot of quick actions or where characters move a lot. Although, there would be parts in the series where the usual dramatic momentum happens in every occasions. It also comes to a suprising conclusion that proved my predictions wrong. I thought Shindo sensei and Kosaka sensei are go...nevermind. I don't really want to spoil the fun for you heheh. ^_^

If you are familiar and likes Fox's series drama, Party of 5, then you will no doubt like, Oyajii. While similar to a Japanese drama ver. of Party of 5, Oyajii maintains it's original concepts and perspectives.

Meet the Kanzaki family, 5 people who seems to be perfect individuals living ordinary lives. But as living in ordinary lives, comes of course the tough ordeals with it.

Each member of the Kanzaki family has his/her own problematic issues that deals with character conflicts; mostly in their inner circle as a family. Oyajii isn't all about dramaticness, it involves a great deal of humor in it as well. There would be times where you're looking for a roll of tissue because you're crying for a very sad scenario, but there are times where you will laugh too.

All in all, Oyajii is a family drama that deals with real family issues in real-life. It also implies ethical proportions that can be learned. This drama is so great that I can possibly even give it a higher score than 10 I tell ya! ^_^'

Ai wo Kudasai is the very first J-dorama that I watched, and probably the one that got me into other Japanese dramas. Ai wo Kudasai, really hits the drama-o-meter pretty high. The storyline is depressing for the most part and unlike others dramas, it doesn't contain humor. This is overall, only for people who likes to see sad dramatic scenarios till' they cry. Nonetheless, it's still outstanding. Miho Kanno really did a good work on how to portray a lonely-depressive individual. Ai wo Kudasai also has a cool theme song called, Zoo (by, Echoes), with ballad acoustic guitar strings accompanied by the slow-melodic piano that perfectly fits the drama's essence, which is the main protagonist, Syuka Hasui, in deep vain wishing please give her love/relief.

I think this drama is also trying to imply a lesson about hope; never give up no matter what or how worst matters get. I will confess that I even cried at some of the most dramatic scenes of the series.

Ai wo Kudasai is so awesome, if only I could see it I would! ^_^' However, I would only recommend, Ai wo Kudasai, for mature audiences, otherwise, younger viewers might find it boring or inappropriate for them. ^_^

Sayonara Ozu Sensei is the kind of drama that has moral values in it. In this case, Ozu and 5 students from his class who can't work things out. Eventually, they became close like bestfriends, as problematic conflicts begin to depict in interactions on the moments they had. Ozu learns something from his students, and he begins to show his feelings that he cares about them and people he knows well. The ending theme is also pretty good done by Aiko called, Oyasuminasai (Good night).

A very good drama for everyone! Not just for adolescents.
