Summer snow 2000 · TBS

really touching

10 / 10

i knew while watching this drama that it'd become one of my favorites, and it definitely didn't let me down in the end. this drama is so real, its messages really got across... it really brought out the emotions in me that were stagnant at the time, and was more touching than i can describe. although it was a little slow in some parts (around the middle-almost the end), i would recommend this drama to anyone who is looking for a drama to watch, i would recommend it to people who don't even like watching dramas... i'd recommend it to everybody!! watch this dorama!!

Gokusen Season 2 2005 · NTV

exceeded expectations

I watched this drama with low expectations (after all that I had heard from people that the sequel wasn't really worth watching) but it still captivated me, somewhat. Maybe I just like cheesy storylines. But either way, although the storyline was similar at times to the original Gokusen and although the story is, as a whole, very predictable, I really liked Jin's and Kame's performances. They were great! Nakama Yukie was amazing as Yankumi, as usual. :) And though I wish Sawada could have come back and made a camio, I was really happy Kuma was there ^^

Ichi Ritoru no Namida 2005 · Fuji TV

a tearjerker but worth it to the last tear

this drama was bound to be depressing right from the outset, but i kept on watching every week just to stay in touch with the progression of aya's disease. it was a very shocking and different kind of sad drama because it focused a lot on the physical aspects of the disease, as it worsened in each episode. it also placed a lot of emphasis on the family's interactions and the family's reactions to aya's conditions... superb acting by all. sawajiri erika deserves more than just praise for her convincing portrayal of the strong-willed aya, and nishikido ryo amazed me in his role of haruto, the seemingly brooding boy who becomes a close confidante and more than just a friend of aya's. but i think that seeing how aya's family acted that caused me to cry in so many episodes... i wouldn't be surprised if i cried more than one litre of tears. but it's so worth it. the fact that this story is based on a true story makes this drama even more of a must-watch... seeing the pictures and quotes from the real aya's story at the end of each episode was... really overwhelmingly powerful.

Nobuta wo Produce 2005 · NTV

more than just a typical school drama!

this drama is completely different from what i had expected... through the episodes, the themes have become deeper, and the friendship between shuji, akira, and nobuta is one that i will always remember. :) kame's acting has improved so much in thsi compelling drama, and yamapi is so perfect as the crazy akira. maki is adorably cute in her role as the quiet nervous girl... nobuta power, chuunyuu!

loooove at first sight ^^

i absolutely LOVE this show!! the f4 are great, dom's wardrobe is a bit quirky but he does make a fashion statement... of course i first i was really excited to see jun as domyouji but it has become so much more than that... i love shun as rui, i love the f2 sidekicks... inoue mao is adorable, and jun's performance is simply amazing- his acting has stepped up to a completely new level! this drama has surpassed my expectations... for them to compact hana yori dango into 9 episodes seemed impossible, but it worked!! i hope there will be a special :)

amazing!

absolutely amazing. the chemistry between tsumabuki satoshi and shibasaki kou as kai and sae was undeniably strong. this drama made me cry, smile, and really hit close to home because it touches upon many themes that i see around me in everyday life... the music is great, the sign language is impressive, and i also love narimiya hiroki and shiraishi miho as a pair... absolutely adorable! it was my second time seeing both of them since gokusen and densha otoko, respectively, and they were captivating in their roles. great all around drama! i highly recommend it. :)
