Aya's only 18 months younger than me, so I think that's OK

Hey all,
I went out and bought the UK release of Azumi today. International cut, poor transfer, hard subs, etc... but subtitled extras! So, I have now made XviDs of both the 'Battle on the Wildside' and the 'Fighting on the Edge' documentaries - over 2 hrs altogether. I'm pretty sure there hasn't been a release with these documentaries subtitled yet, so I'm pretty chuffed with them. It's really fascinating stuff as well - Azumi was in pre-production hell for years, Kitamura and the producer arguing over scripting, casting and pretty much anything. Kitamura cast Aya based on her 'Fuji TV presents the Complete Ueto Aya' idol DVD, everyone thought Takatoshi Kaneko was gay, including Aya, so Kitamura promised to make him look manly in the film. Oh, and that time Aya got smacked on the head with the sword? That was the first take on the first day of filming and she ended up in hospital Loads more stuff, they interview everyone, including the wig technician!
Anyways, I've been getting my net connection recently by sticking my wireless card out of the window and seeing who's bandwidth I can nick. Unforunately it died this morning So I'll get them online to you as soon as I can. I've also got the DVD rips of Kaze and Okuru Kotoba ready to upload too. Stay tuned!

i've been trying to find the ltd edition of azumi myself, but looks like everyone who has one is holding on to theirs. of course i didn't know about azumi until it was posted on usenet, so i missed out the pre-order, and apparently any leftovers too.
thank you for taking the time (and bandwidth) to share it with us all.

Hallo!
Today I discovered this great forum by searching pics of Aya.
I have also the Japanese DVD of Azumi and watched the documentaries, but without subtitles I don't understand nothing. Phinn, the quality of your Rips is fantastic and can't hardly wait for the both subtitled documentaries. Have the DVD Ueto Aya - Clips 1 a Dolby Digital 5.1 or 2.0 sound?
Thanks, Andreas
Hi Andreas, welcome to Aya Central and thank you!
Unforunately, like the rest of Flightmaster's Aya DVD releases, I'm sad to say that the quality of the disc is pretty poor. The transfer is not great at all and it was a real hassle to get even a reasonable XviD out of them. The sound isn't even DD 2.0, just PCM Stereo
About the documentaries and PVs: I'm back online, but just. The connection is really unstable, so I can just about post on the forum, but uploading 1.53GB of video may prove tricky I'll be uploading just as soon as I can. Sorry to tease everyone and then make you wait!
