I actually went out and bought the "scenerio books" (scripts) for both IWGP and Kisarazu.

eien Bussan - Can you tell me where to find these books? Are they available for any dorama? But I guess they're written in Japanese, right?

Hey, then half your job is done! Hahaha, you don't even need to listen so closely to the drama now! Having ` script is really a big help!Big Grin If you buy the drama books (they're sold like fictional novels, but because they're written after the drama was released, they're 100% accurate to the script of the drama!), you can also make subtitles fairly easily, so far as translating anyway. Big Grin

As for subtitling, the pros say they use Substation Alpha...dunno about that tho', cuz I use dinky Subtitle Workshop thingy

Off the top of my head, I'd say

Okusama wa majo, Love Revolution and Koi no Chikara. Has Hatsu Taiken ever been subbed? Oh, and I'd love to see a subbed version of Ooku (The Inner Palace)! I watched that last year on the International Channel, and even without subtitles it was enthralling! But the overly-formal language was really difficult and I missed quite a bit of what was going on.

Some of these series mentioned HAVE been completely subbed in English Sweat I can even run down which ones were, LOL. But, some of them aired a long time ago w/ subs on TV, so some of them don't have the most desirable quality Sweat Some series mentioned may come to a surprise to some that they aired w/ subs (older ones, like Hakusen Nagashi).

I have recently downloaded a subtitling program. I am just subtitling for fun, but I figure someone might want to see them...

I am currently soft-subbing:

NzoɂȂO / Kimi ga Omoide ni Naru Mae ni
--I've started on episode 3, as I am still in the process of getting 1, 2 and 4.

삭̗l / Minami-kun no Koibito
--I've started on episode 5 of this because I deleted the earlier eps. I can always download them again though.

I can do other dramas, I am just surprised no one else has done them! Like Tokyo Love Story!! That's infamous! Kisarazu Cat's Eye isn' interesting enough for me to bother translating one episode for 4 days, haha, so I won't take that request...but if someone can show me where the RAWS are, I'll be willing to type them up Smile

Oh, so yeah, doesn't anyone want to see "Kimi ga Omoide..."??? If you've downloaded it from a torrent, I can upload the soft-subs eventually. Big Grin

I've been downloading Kimi ga Omoide ni Naru Mae ni as well, got eps 1-4. I'm getting antsy for more Doh! I hope that person uploading the raws uploads them all. Good luck w/ your subbing efforts Mr Green

About Minami-kun no Koibito, I downloaded 1 ep, tried it, and only continued to get it for its sillyness Sweat People might like it if you do it, but...eh, I thought it was kinda silly Not telling ya!

Ah, I'm guilty hehe I use Substation Alpha, but I'm very comfy w/ it. I find it very easy to time and edit things. I started on that a year and a half ago. I have not tried Subtitle Workshop though, I feel at home w/ SSA Sweat Whatever you use is up to you, but if you want softsub and you are used to SW, keep up w/ that. Wink It's just a matter of preference. SSA sub files also work w/ Vobsub for softsub purposes.

I bought my scenario books in Japan, and yeah they're written in Japanese (too bad...it would have made my translating job A LOT easier). Mr Green You could probably get them online from stores like Amazon Japan, etc.

I haven't seen many drama related books like the ones I have (they're in actual script form and not written out like a novel), but I've seen lots of novelized versions of just about any drama that had been considerably popular. I've never read a novelized version of a drama before but I believe they would be faithful to the drama.

Yeah, I'm really glad I went and spent the extra money for the books. However, it seems that the scenario book is a copy of the drama's original script, so there's lots of stuff in it that was edited out of the actual drama. It sure does cut back on a lot of concentrated listening time, but I still have to double check to make sure that I haven't added any dialogue that wasn't even used in the drama. Nut

Thanks for the tips on subbing programs. I'll take a look at them. Smile

I am on a nurse no oshigoto 2 kick, hehe. A week after watching it, and I'm still high. I wish this series were subbed in english (1&3 were...) I'm actually considering attempting to start the project myself. Although with my level of skill (or lack of it) who knows when it will be finished, hehe.

Other series I would like to see subbed are: Moto Kare, Manhattan Love Story, Nurseman, Wonderful Life, & Hotman 2.

You stole my thunder BMW

But while I'm here, and if we're still voting, "Bewitched" is a show I'd certainly like to see subbed.

The list of other shows I'd like to see subbed would take the rest of the day to type.
