hate to bring this up, but whats the dif between this thread and the other "post-whatever-you-want" thread? http://jdorama.com/viewtopic.2524.4005.htm seems to me that one of the thread (this one) should be locked/closed. my computer just got infected with xp service pack 2 this morning. i don't know what good it's supposed to be, but my file folders now take about 10 seconds to load. is that bad or what?? the richest man in the world is making normal computer users poorer by taking up [10 seconds multiplied by the trillion number of times they open up a folder multiplied by the overcharging power distributors' rates = a certain amount of money] in the electricity bill. does the equation make any sense? i guess i really am normal.

security, schekurity. i just d/l sp2 and now my machine can't recognize my modem, and thus no web access.

Called verizon (dsl provider) and they basically said to call Micro$oft because they can still send signals to my modem.

1st thing i'm gonna do when i get home is to remove the SP2.

This is exactly why I wait for all the bugs to get ironed out when it comes to M$ stuff. Even though it's out of beta and released to the public, it still has its share of headaches. I'll stick to SP1 for now.
