Misuzu-san was the nurse who he was supposed to marry at the end of Hotman. I thought they had good chemistry.

Although the official webpage for "Hotman 2" isn't up yet, TBS has officially announced that the new series will be starting on October 7th with an air time of 10pm.
My guess for Yada Akiko's reason for not participating (if the rumors turn out to be true) in "Hotman 2" is because she is starring in another drama, "Last Christimas" on FujiTV. Pure and simple, it's a smarter career move to participate in "Last Christmas" rather than "Hotman 2" for Yada.
In "Last Christmas," Yada will be starring along side Oda Yuji, who has a higher "stock value" than Sorimachi Takashi does. Also, this drama will be airing in the coveted "Monday@9pm" slot, which is better than "Hotman 2's" Thursday@10pm (coincidentally all of Kimura Takuya's dramas have been Mon@9). Futhermore, "Last Christmas's" writer is the same guy who wrote "Tokyo Love Story" and the directors are the same guys who did "Shoroi Kyotou (White Tower/Castle)," "Tokyo Wankei." and "Bijou ka Yajuu (Beauty or Beast)." Along with a notable supporting cast, "Last Christmas" just seems to have a better chance of getting higher ratings than "Hotman 2."
Personally, although I would like to have Yada Akiko in "Hotman 2," I can't blame her for ditching it in light of what "Last Christmas" has to offer, career-wise and body-of-work-wise.

Last Christmas, I guess that will be my new most anticipated drama.
(Sorry for being slightly off target)

Sorimachi, Yui, the Saitos, Nana, Tomoka and Motoki Fukami are still there, but, in a little bit of a disappointment, this time the rest of the key cast is replaced with Misaki Ito (standing in for Manami), and Miho Shiraishi (for Yada? I'd rather have Shiraishi replace Manami and Ito replace Yada) and also Exile's Daisuke Maki and child actress Karen Miyama round it up, possibly as a friend for Nana.
I just hope it's not a retelling. Given that it's billed by series number instead of year, it's possibly a true sequel. I'll miss Akiko and Manami , but I'm looking forward to the new character interactions. Let's see if Misaki can make a better Shima (because Manami looked too weak to fight back in the rape scene, but Misaki can kick butt so you can guess what's in my thoughts).

Oh I wished it was the same cast.

I'm not sure if I'm getting the actors correct or not...but this might also explain why Shima isn't in it. Isn't she the actress who's also in Churasan 3 (the nurse who liked Fumiya before Eri married him)? If so...maybe that's why she's out too...since Churasan 3 just began airing 9/13 (though it's only 5 episodes and I doubt she has a really big role).
