Now that the three debates are over did anyone change their mind or make up their mind about which candidate to support?

From what I've seen and heard, it appears that Kerry pretty much won all three debates...

I felt Kerry won all three debates myself but I am biased towards Kerry so I can't really be too objective.

Same here, particularly after watching the various excerpts...

The polls I've seen gave Kerry the win, maybe a tie in the second debate.

I think the debates were not very good overall though. The 3rd didn't even touch on some good hard questions, too many fluffy ones.

Bleah.

I think you can get a sense for the character of the man from the debates though. IMNSHO, Kerry carries himself presidentially, calm, cool, factual, while Bush can't control his emotions, and he makes stuff up, like saying he never said he didn't care about Bin Laden. He did say that, and it's on video.

I hope the press plays that one up.

For me that comes back to one of my big gripes about his foreign policy. At the beginning of his term, Bush hardly even spoke of Bin Laden, but continuously spoke of Iraq. After he decided to invade Iraq, it was as if Bin Laden again was just forgotten.

But mostly, I can't wait for November to come and go.

Some of the post-debate commentaries made similar assessments regarding their presentation/aura/demeanor....

Probably it makes sense to lock this thread. It's not really on topic with J-Doramas in the first place, and probably everything that's going to be said about this topic has already been said in one form or the other.

I would venture to say that NO ONE in this group is on the fence and about to change their minds...regardless of the debates.

Yeah. I don't feel that debates are the ideal setting for explaining their platforms ... so they end up being more judged on appearances. Well, it seems that way to me. It's not entirely a bad thing. I do think we should elect a president with good leadership qualities. For me, that's Kerry.

Now, if the debate were held more like a real "debate", with a team on each side, with all the notes they want, that would be more exciting to me. That's how some competitive debating is done. It's fun to watch.

I think a lot of people made the same assessment in 1960 between JFK and Nixon: JFK showed his charisma and Nixon showed his 5 o'clock shadow... hehe

Yeah, that's how I've always envisioned debates... Fat chance of that happening here...

Here we go again Smile . Ahh, CNN. The bastion of objectivity.

I voted this morning. Did you know that, in Hawaii, you get treated to a luau breakfast immediately following voting? Yeah, you just go to the luau tent next to the respective polling place, show 'em your stub and . . . BWWHAHAHHAHAHA, JJJUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSS' KIDDING.

I voted this morning. Paper ballot.

Gonna head out to vote as soon as I finish my lunch.

Hmmm...

No WMDs.

No threat to America.

No connection between Iraq and the terrorists who blew up the Towers and the Pentagon.

Cut soldiers pay.

Tried to cut combat pay.

Cut allowance to families while soldiers were out of the country fighting a war, almost in half.

Closed a bucket full of V. A. Hospitals.

Keystone Kops approach to securing post war Iraq.

Back door draft.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Drove the country deeper into debt than at any time in history.

Not a single net job created in over 3 years. First time since Hoover.

Man, I'm on the fence.
