News no Onna... introduced me to a different kind of TV drama and since then I haven't looked back! I still like Takizawa seeing him now in Bokudake no Madonna.

The series that started it all for me was Winter Sonata, technically not a dorama but I fell in love with Bae Yong Jun^^ hehe

That started my hunt for more dramas and the next series I watched was Long Vacation.
Suddenly I was hit with a Takuya Lovey Eyes Kimura virus.. it turned me into a dorama junkie!

The first one I got hooked on was Strawberry on the Shortcake. It was very popular with a female friend and she wanted to watch it again, and I had the first few episodes sitting on my computer for a long time. We watched it and I was hooked. There was no saving me after that Sweat

Love Generation!

The first few episodes were especially enjoyable—best parts were when they picked on each other. The chemistry was great.

LG was the best intro to japanese dramas. I haven't been able to find another one so far that measures up the same way.

Long Vacation. First saw it on the International Channel. Fell in love with Yamaguchi Tomoko. Then I found I out that she was married to Karasawa Toshiaki and was bummed. Then she decided to take a break from acting to take care of Karasawa. What a lucky guy. Luckily, she still makes commercials so I can see her on TV when I go to Japan. She's pushing 40 but still looks good.

I think mine is "Kimi no tame ni dekiru koto".
http://jdorama.com/drama_194.htm

Yoshida Eisaku used to be my favourite actor after I watched it. He was so handsome then. The story is very interesting too. Yoshida and Ishida Yuriko were a loving couple. Tatsuya (Yoshida) indented to propose to her 1 night but unfortunately, this guy, Hikata (from episode 1 till last episode, they never show his face) knocked him down. Tatsuya died and Hikata went into a coma. Tatsuya's spirit linger around in the hospital cause he has a wish he never fufill (to propose to Ishida). Then, this old nurse who can see spirits, saw Tatsuya and decided to help him. The solution is for his spirit to fit into the Hikata's body, but he could not tell anyone this secret if not the spell will break. When he looked at himself in the mirror, he will see his own face but when others look at him, it was Hikata whom they see. So, Hikata (Tatsuya) woke up from the coma and went to look for Ishida. Of course, Ishida did not know and hate this Hikata for causing her lover's death. Hikata (Tatsuya) spent a long time and finally gain Ishida's trust and love. But after he proposed to her, he has to leave this world... I remembered crying over this drama. Really touching and beautiful theme song.

Sorry to type so long. Just wanted to recommend this thogh it is an old drama. How I wish I can find the VCD now. Sad

Well, I'm watching currently Trick, on KSCI Channel 18 on Sundays from 9:00 to 10:00. The preimere episode just aired, and already the drama has gotten so compelling, I can't wait for the next time to watch this.

Another favorite of mine which aired on the same time at the same channel but has sadly ended a week before Trik began is Stairway to Heaven. A suspensfeul drama which will remain one of my favorites. I loved it, the acting was at times funny and at times sad.

BTW, Keiichi's actor is Sato Koichi.

I remember when I was in high school and I wasn't interested in doramas at the time. There were shows like " into the moment"(I'm not too sure if it's the right title ) and "long vacation" (I wished I taped it when they showed it on tv Sad ) . However, there was RAD (odoru daissosassen) and that was the first dorama that I've ever watched. I thought the show was entertaining and ever since that show, I've seen many other dramas.

Damn it, I should got into doramas a lot sooner since I could have recorded all those shows Angry !
