Have you checked the file in Gspot (http://gspot.headbands.com/) to see what info it tells you about the file? It won't tell you if it's 'NTSC' or 'PAL' but it will tell you how many frames per second it is. NTSC is 29.97, PAL is 25. Also it can tell you whether or not the file length is correct and other info that might help give you some ideas.
That is also a help for the occasional audio-syncing problem that TMPGEnc has with AVI files. TMPGEnc is finicky with MP3 audio. It's safest to rip the audio with VDub to a wav file to ensure the audio will sync correctly. It's a precautionary measure, but it's better to do it right away rather than to encode and find out later that it's not synced
But, I didn't know it might contribute to a problem like Michi's....hope it works

but when i convert another AVI file.. it is perfectly fine.. its converted to MPG without any problem or error.
Was the other file another Bodyguard ep too? As far as I know not all AVI files are the same. Some are XviD, some are DivX, etc. But like I said, from what I hear TMPGEnc sometimes has problems with XviD and they may not guarantee full support of it. So sometimes you just not be able to use TMPGEnc for certain XviD AVI's. But it seems like everyone is finding out some way to convert them whether it's with TMPGEnc or not

Crimson Sabre....I believe that is a Jem drama. If so, that is DivX AVI, not XviD AVI. DivX should be little or no problem in most cases (except maybe with audio syncing) while I find XviD to be sometimey with conversion in TMPGEnc. That might explain your ease in converting Crimson. Jem dramas tend to be no problem
Edit: I was gonna try to grab you while you were still on MSN but I missed you

yeaahhh last time my anime oso like dat..
if i watch on computer, there is no problem..
if watch on tv,, cant see part of the subtitles
As mentioned in a bunch of other posts your file is Xvid encoded. The framerate is 23.976 fps. This corresponds to NTSC DVD framerate (http://www.gromkov.com/faq/faq2004-0045.html) so it's NOT PAL after all.

What was the ultimate solution and/or problem that you had to get around to reach success?
