I'll be working at Louis Vuitton (Hilton Hawaiian Village) tonight and tomorrow night, so if you guys are in the area, please stop by! _________________

We were able to get together! Well, not all of us... The Man, we were thinking about you!!!!!
From left to right: jholic, saburo, thetenken, groink, and thetenken's college classmate from the mainland US.
We met up at Sushi King, just outside of Kaimuki and a few blocks from the University of Hawaii @ Manoa. Great conversation on several levels: school, travelling on the Big Island, and of course Asian dramas!
Thanks, thetenken, for getting together with the Oahu clan!!!!

Hahah, glad to see ya'll's had a good time gentlemen. Thanks for thinking of The Man. Hahha! Oh! Sushi King! So THAT's what Jholic looks like! What a great crossover meeting and all, folks from JDorama and/or KIKU and/or Hawaii and/or the Mainland, just for starters, hahaha.
Was neat to at least talk to thetenken and finally getting to meet groink in the entire process stemming from Sunday. Sorry I couldn't make it . . . the little obstacle called "workage exhaustion" made me drop out, gomen. I know, lame, but, yesterday was just too much for some reason.
Anyway, just as well, perhaps . . . I ended up having a very meaningful conversation with someone I care very much about from mine very own neighborhood.
I'm having tea right now, so, I'll make a toast to all of ya'll's, jholic, saburo, thetenken, groink, and thetenken's college classmate. Two days or so left for thetenken on Oahu? Hahah, call me if you want. Right on ya'll's are cool!

I have a few cool J-hangouts in mind if we get an earlier start (Aun at McCully Shopping Center or the yakitori place right down the road from Sushi King).

hey, wassup, all! it was great meeting all of you (groink & saburo for the 2nd time). it was a pretty good conversation. would've loved to stay later and talk to some of thetenken's friends. one of them (i believe his name is 'go') lives in tokyo (pictured in blue aloha shirt). but i had to work pretty early in the morn.
The Man, sorry i missed you, man! maybe next time. according to what i've heard, we'll pretty much have to post an extra picture on the side just for you, dude.
ahochaude: one of my friends worked at lv at hilton for a few months, so perhaps we've seen each other. good luck w/ all those jobs, man! (and i'm thought i was pretty busy w/ just one).
thetenken: hope you're soaking up more of that good ol' hawaiian sun. if you (and i) had more time, i could've taken you and your friends out to bellows to boogie board! perhaps another day.

No problem. Went to sleep early last night. Needed to catch up on my sleep anyway.
Have fun at the Okinawa festival! I wish I could be there! _________________

kden...
Great, the pic you've got there has me sleeping.
It was great meeting you guys, even if it was tough getting everyone together.
Unfortunately, I didn't get a shoot the sh*t with The Man, but it'll have to wait for another time, I suppose. Also missed aho, though I might have seen him while I was wandering around the Waikiki area. Got your message too late, or I might have looked for you at your workplace. Maybe you guys should leave Paradise and head out to the D.C. swamplands.
@jholic: my friend who lives in Tokyo is Nobu, but we were all over there for some time a few years back.
Hawaii is definitely a nice place, and I really hated leaving. Thanks for the great time! _________________

Xavio: actuallly, i thought the okinawan festival was just ok. it was actually the 'okinawan CRAFT fair'. i thought it was the festival thing. but since my friends had a booth, i had to go and visit them. it was pretty cool - next time i'll take pics. the really good one is the okinawan cultural fair which is held near waikiki beach. lots of great food, fun, crafts, activities, bon dancing, etc. not to mention the asian honeyz!
thetenken: ha! ok, now you know how bad my hearing is. i swear i heard his name was 'go'. in any case, it was pretty fun - hope we can do it again. hey, didn't your friend take a picture? maybe in that one, your eyes are wide open, and ours are all closed!
btw, my friend is supposed to be heading up to virginia (norfolk) this week. what is there to see/do?

Hehe, my other friend's name is Go. =)
Yeah, I have the other picture...I'll post it up when I get the chance. As for Norfolk, there isn't all that much to see there. Come inland a bit and there's all the old colonial and Civil War stuff near Williamsburg. Go up to D.C. and there are clubs, monuments, museums, and all sorts of other stuff to see. _________________

Ahhh... I miss the islands... I can't wait to take another vacation back there... visit the family and just go out and lounge on the land with my dogs...
The weather isn't too bad right now in Tokyo, though... watch it start raining now that I wrote that.

anyways, thanks for the info on virginia. will pass it on.
hikki: hawaii's the best, but if i were to choose anywhere else to live, japan's probably the only other place i would consider. lucky you!
Xavio: hope you've got a good internet connection:

Here's a view of Waikiki
Then there's Diamond Head
And finally, the sunset from Waikiki
