Well I can't compete (not that I was trying) with HDTV, so I guess I won't bother recording the show...

Okay... Seeing the Public Momusu tracker is gone, does anyone know where the 2004 Kouhaku will be seeded after Jan 1? I downloaded the 2003 off the PMM tracker this past January. Normally I don't keep in touch with the JPOP BT scene.

Otherwise, as a backup, maybe bmwracer and I should capture the show just in case.

For those of you who subscribe to TV Japan, either though DishNetwork, satellite feed, or NGN2, the 2004 Kouhaku Uta Gassen will air Friday 12/31 starting at 8:30am Eastern Standard Time, 5:30am Pacific, and 3:30am Hawaii. The show is scheduled for 4 hours, 10 minutes.

Re-broadcast is on 12/31 starting at 9:00pm EST, 6:00pm PST, and 4:00pm HST.

Any other source of receiving NHK, either via their analog feed or via the BS network, the times are the same.

As for other sources (KIKU-TV, and other local stations), the show will air on 1/1/2005. Check the schedule for local times. With KIKU-TV, they stick in commercials at awful points in the broadcast, which is why I'm to give NGN2 a try this time around.

Get your recorders ready!!!!!!

I'll pick the white team. I really like the pop singers on the red team, but the enka singers on the white team always seem to do far better than the women. I don't really like most of the pop singers on the white team, but regardless, they've done some very good performances in the past few years. A lot of the pop singers on the red team are good, but they haven't been as entertaining as the white team in the past few years.

Aah` So glad that Kawaguchi Kyogo performed. "Sakura" sound good, but in the beginning his guitar seemed to have this weird sound coming from it ^^;
Porno Graffiti was in Kouhaku? I didn't see them... What song did they sing? (and was it fast or slow type of song?)

Yeah, Nada Sousou was great. Morikawa Ryoko's performance was good too. I hope those girls in morning musume that were hopping around in funny costumes learned something >:O

My favorite part was probably the Shinsengumi theme. That song is great, and the singer(don't remember his name) looked so happy when he was singing the lalala's... was kind of funny.

I liked this years show more than the last few I've seen. Singular moments may have been better in the past, but I usually don't like a lot of the pop acts, and I didn't mind most of them this year, plus I liked the enka singers a lot more.

My girl Mizumori Kaori was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! She also took part in a lot of the cheering during the other acts. At one point in the event, she was wearing a very sexy silk red outfit... Bonk

Nagayama Yoko also looked really great! Fuji Ayako was extremely great... I've heard her a few times before, but her Kouhaku performance gave me goosebumps!

I haven't finshed watching the entire program yet, but yeah, the Shinsengumi theme was pretty impressive...
