eightysix

From what I read on their web site they are campaigning to become a basic cable station... so it figures they are in the pay service area now.

I have the full package offered by comcast in the east bay, so I (think) I get pretty much everything they offer here.

The problem is... every time I try writing to comcast I get a form letter in return, and they almost never address my original question.

Heck, I'm still trying to figure out why the IC got pulled. Comcast owns the IC!

And while I'm here...

I know I harp on this, but if KTSF viewers want to see more programing geared for adults... send an email to [email protected] and let them know.

Thank them for putting on "Number 1", even if you haven't seen it.

I just wrote an email to Dish Network to ask them about adding ImaginAsian TV to their lineup after signing the petition on ImaginAsian's website. I hoped that DN would actually put it on their lineup...but I guess not. They could get rid of one of the stupid shopping channels....

I also have the full package, and have not heard of this channel. It does sound interesting.

That's funny. I still have the IC on my system (Fremont). It's on channel 69, but the on screen channel guide doesn't have any show information.

I just looked at the Comcast channel lineup for Fremont. I have the Ohlone (College) station on Channel 28, where ImaginAsian TV is supposed to be. And....to make things worse, they (IATV) are airing Bewitched in Tokyo. I don't know if it's subbed at all, but.... Puppy Dog Eyes Shameful Cry

That sucks Oh Crap. Did that just happen all of a sudden without notice?

I think IATV should be on the basic channel line-up like they want. Asian-Americans (also Japanese, Korean, Chinese nationals, etc) don't get enough representation on television anyway. I mean, there was this hosptial drama set in San Francisco...no asian actors! I took an "Asian American Experience" course at my university...with mostly Asian students, and I know that it really bothers them too.

I'm hoping Dish Network will see the light sooner than Comcast.... Fingers crossed

Sadly, it's been like that for a while. I had never heard of IATV until today. Their website does say it is available in San Francisco on Comcast 28. Apparently, it only applies to the city itself, not the Bay Area. Grumble

Wow, I can't believe I just now found the KTSF thread! Ah, well. I missed the start of "Number One" but it's not proving too hard to follow. The music is hysterical.

For the person who was wondering, host clubs totally exist in Japan, and being Number One is a big deal just like in the show. Here's one article for the overly curious:
http://thestar.com.my/lifestyle/story.asp?file=/2005/2/21/features/10093665&sec=features

I'll be looking forward to whatever comes on next, really.

Fell asleep again during Wakaba last night.
Sleeping
This has got to get better, but the whole thing is depressing to me. After Koi Seiyo and Sakura, this is somewhat boring.

Any comments?

Yoshitsune is getting really good! Does anyone have ep2 of Yoshitsune because I was never able to watch it since my VCR crapped out.

Wakaba continues to bore me. *yawn*

Actually, I like Wakaba. It doesn't seem much different to me than Churasan or Sakura with the "boredom" level.

I'm not sure if it's the story line, the actress who plays Wakaba, or the depressing circumstances of her life. I am really feeling down when I watch this. I guess I would use the word "bland" for all of the above.

At least Sakura had a far out plot and a cute Sakura and some interesting moments. Same for Koi Seiyo with some interesting situations with the three girls.

Any more comments?

Have to wait for confirmation tonight, but according to Yahoo, the new Saturday night show, starting on the 12th will be:

Hitonatsu no Papa e (Papa for one summer) TBS 2003

http://www.jdorama.com/drama.760.htm

Should make Elton happy since that's a star vehicle for Aya.

I'm overly excited abut the possiblity of the next show starring Ueto Aya too. In love

(The music in "Number One" continues to make me laugh at inappropriate moments. OH, and THE DANCING. OMG.)

Waiting for the announcement... waiting ... w00t! IT IS!

As for Wakaba, I feel sorry for Hikaru (her brother) having untreated PTSD, but god, he's annoying as a character. I just want to smack him.
