i haven't seen kal, but i thought musa was a really good movie. pretty much what you'd want out of a good action movie. action, great fighting scenes, decent enough acting, decent plot, good looking women, etc.

i would say that there were a few 'unrealistic' scenes here and there (for effects), and i wish the dvd that i had watched had better subs.

It was a good movie though. Mr Green

Man, tha's hardcore. Ha. Sounds like the actual sunflower seeds fell out . . . if he ate them properly . . . wouldn't all mushy pieces fall out instead? Maybe I'm thinking about it differently. Would make sense -- I'm a lover not a violentor after all Victory! Peace! .

Yeah, K-film can be quite graphic (and I'm not only speaking violent-wise).

Not to say that you're wrong, kitakaze (welcome to the boards, by the way), but . . . is this "Kal" a S. Korean film? I've not heard of it.

Well...I don't remember exactly, but I think they were chewed up sunflower seeds. I can't think of what else would have been little whitish/yellowish chunks in all that gore.

The last korean movie I watched was "When I turned nine".
It had been recommended to me by lots of people and my expectations were high, but it just didn't turn out to be that good *imo*
There's so much "scene-hopping" and the charakters go through so many diffrent feelings in short time that it's hard to follow (not the storyline)

Yeah, Oldboy was probably the best film of last year (well, 2003 actually). Acting, directing, cinematography, music... almost everything was perfect in that film. Director Chan-wook Park is currently planning the third part for his vengeance trilogy: Sympathy for Lady Vengeance.

btw, some idiot is planning a hollywood remake of Oldboy. I don't understand why, as the original film is quite perfect and it's clear that they can't make the new version better on any aspect. And they will have to lighten some parts of the story, too.

Have you guys seen 'A Bittersweet Life' yet? It's far from perfect, but it's still a pretty damn cool film. Definitely one of the best korean films of the year.

Yesss, a topic on Korean movies. This is what I got into before I got back into dramas, haha. I'm still very much into these Korean movies though.

Has anyone seen Welcome to Dongmakgol? It seems very Hayao Miyazaki-influenced and it's a really great movie. It was nominated for a lot of Blue Dragon awards and it was Korea's entry for the foreign film category of the Oscar's but it didn't get in. Shake Head Anyway, it's a really funny, touching, and exciting movie. I like it better than Sympathy For Lady Vengeance, which is THE Korean movie of 2005, but I love that too. hehe
