I saw the scenes for the new show that's going to be on Hitonatsu no Papa e, too. Good, that show looks like it's going to be funny, and it has Aya in it . _________________

yup should be a good one
And it also stars Sakurai Sachiko. Yea that girl is really pretty too in a slightly older sort of way
But what's so interesting about that fact, remember Aya did KKK 2003, well Sakurai Sachiko did the original KKK and they both played the role of the lead actress. And they both are in Hitonatsu Papa e. Hehe, there's your interesting tidbit of the day

Grr. I was at a party on Saturday and forgot to tape the shows. Anyway, just now I saw a teaser for a movie to be shown April 24. It looked like a biography, but I didn't catch of whom. I suppose it won't be subtitled...But did anyone notice the name of it? Of course, I'll be at the Cherry Blossom Festival anyway, but MAYBE I could remember to tape it. (sigh)
Oh, and I hope eltinator noticed the news about the Ueto Aya manga coming soon! _________________

Wow, another Fremont person.
When's the Cherry Blossom Festival, anyways? I went last year and it was pretty fun.

Yeah, I was there last year, it was amusing. After I made a donation at the shrine next to the sake stand, all the obaasans kept offering me free sake, trying to get me drunk!

Hitonatsu no Papa,
I had to go out of town on business over the last two weekends so I ended up missing the beginning two episodes of Hitonatsu no Papa. Can someone fill me in on the the first two weeks so I can pick it up tonight?
Thanks to all the Bay Area people on the forum. Other than Fremont you have Foster City represented here. What other cities are represented?

Re. tonight's "Wakaba:" Drunk Wakaba speaks better English than sober Sakura.
Friday, April 1: Warriors of the Yang Clan series begins on Channel 26 (8 cable) with English Subtitles! Woohoo. I think that will be the first subtitled Chinee series since I started watching channel 26. Andy Lau and Leslie Cheung, I think. _________________

She's playing Higuchi Natsu, or by her pen name, Higuchi Ichiyo, a writer from the Meiji era. I'm probably going to watch it even without subtitles, since I learned a little about her for my Modern Japan class. _________________

It's called "Higuchi Ichiyo Monogatari." I have a copy of the one that aired in Hawaii. It was subbed when it was shown there so possibly it should be here. But I'm not holding my breath.

Thank you very much for the info on Rina's movie. (I love this site. Everyone here really is so cool about helping out.)
Anyway...
I dropped an email to TTV, asking if the show will be broadcast with subs.
I doubt that it will, since they usually make such a big deal about it when they do have a show with subs. But I figure, the more requests they get for shows with subs, the more likely they'll be to offer them.
Ayone else who'd like to send an inquiry about subs on "Higuchi Ichiyo Monogatari", the email address is:

No prob. Dochira actually helped me figure out what it was...all I knew then was that it look familiar. I wish they'd air it with subtitles too. _________________
