i always enjoyed the fact that you could walk around the airport with a beer like it ain't no thing.....

and for those who enjoy coffee or tea...there's about 67 million varieties of both, give or take a bottle. even coca-cola had it's own version of green tea in japan.

To the original poster, browse this site a bit http://japan.mercifulhouse.net/nyuumonsho.php
It wouldn't hurt to read the content throughly, the author has written very detailed travel report on his site. After readin the content, I had the urge to travel to Japan w00t!
Very fun to read, feels like as if readin comics. Btw the author happens to be a Finn, I'm sure the author will be glad to answer unclear things regardin the travel issues.

the only way i can guarantee myself a trip to Japan is if i have the chance to meet my idol... which i know i will not be able to meet... so going to Japan is on hold... until i meet someone nice.

Is there any places in Japan u guys wanna recommend cos i might get a vacation next summer all around the Asia.

My route would be:
Helsing-München-Ho Chi Minh City//Hanoi-Singapore-Kuala Lumpur-Tokio-San Fransisco-New York-Stockholm-Helsing

What kinds of things do you enjoy?

For me I love the Kansai area because you have Osaka, and Kobe which are great places to shop, dance, etc. Umeda sky tower gives a great view of the city in Osaka, then you have Kyoto, and Nara that have a ton of History, and Shrines to Visit, Osaka and Hemeiji castles are in the area.

you're giving youself too little credit. you watch a couple of yakuza movies (black rain with mike douglas would do too) and you'll pick it up in no time. Wink

Yeah, I suppose you're right. After seeing some dramas and movies, I probably know some, but don't know it falls under Kansai-ben.

Hrm.

Giving some serious thought to hitting Tokyo sometime in May or June or July.

My cousin lives in Tokyo, so I've a place to stay. Just need to find a good tour guide company that caters to English speakers. Doh!
